These only recently came out, and we gave them 4.5 out of 5 in our glowing Shokz OpenDots One review – so this discount is fantastic, and is the first we've seen for them. Clip-style open earbuds hook onto your ear, and don't go into the ear canal – they're really comfortable, they leave you able to hear the world around you as well as your music, and they sound superb.

This is the first deal on the model we've just crowned as the best open earbuds – so while it may not be a huge discount, it's a really good one. In our Shokz OpenFit 2+ review we praised the impressive Dolby-powered audio and impeccable fit, and being open earbuds they don't disconnect you from the world. The Shokz OpenFit 2 also have a deal, dropping to just $129 at Amazon, but we recommend the Plus model because the sound is superior and the wireless charging is useful.

Shokz makes some of the best open earbuds for fitness, for working and for commuting, and these earbuds in particular are class acts.

One of the things we really love about Shokz' earbuds is that they solve something that affects all open earbuds: because they're not shoved deep into your ear canals, open earbuds sometimes struggle to deliver exciting bass and the kind of performance music fans love. Not here. Both sets of Shokz do a great job at delivering impressive low-end thump without just turning the bass up and hoping for the best.

In our Shokz OpenFit 2+ review we found them to be the perfect everyday earbuds: they have Dolby cinematic sound, tweakable sound settings so bass-heavy podcasts and music don't sound too boomy, and really long battery life. And they fit well without becoming uncomfortable or trying to escape from your ears – something that's really important for long wear or for intense activity. The last thing you want is an earbud popping out just before you achieve your personal best – so it's good to know that Shokz stay put.

We also really rate the Shokz OpenDots One which, for our reviewer bettered, the Bose Ultra Open earbuds – quite the feat given Bose's audio excellence. We found that they fit like a dream, deliver impressive audio and deliver excellent bass without getting too thuggish. They're also brilliantly easy to live with every day thanks to their tiny carry case, which fits in even the smallest pockets or purses – unlike the massive cases that accompany many sets of sporty open-ears.

This is the lowest price we've ever seen for the AirPods Pro 2, and it's an astounding value for earbuds this good. They sound superb, they have high-tier noise cancellation (though not as good as the Bose above), they have an unlose-able case, and they have the newer Live Translation and hearing aid features that also feature on AirPods Pro 3. An amazing deal for Apple users.

This might be the earbuds bargain of Black Friday. It's the lowest we've ever seen for these earbuds, and it's a good $20 cheaper than the previous lowest price. They are outrageously good for this price – in our Nothing Ear (a) review, we felt they were way better than their original price, and now they're 50% off! Great sound quality, strong active noise cancellation, a comfortable fit, good smart features… what a deal.

Beats' latest sports earbuds get a nice discount, making it even more tempting to take advantage of their built-in heart-rate sensors, so you can track your runs with minimal other tech on you. In our Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 review, we also liked the head-tracked spatial audio, good stamina, huge range of features, and comfortable and lightweight fit – the latter is obviously super-important for sports headphones, and these deliver.

Bose's affordable earbuds offer top-tier active noise cancellation, but without a top-tier price tag. In our 4.5-star Bose QuietComfort Earbuds review, we said they were already "arguably best-in-class value" at full price, so for this price they're especially great. We praised their comfort and sound quality as well as the amazing ANC.
