Nosferatu (2024)

Nosferatu 4K Blu-ray
Nosferatu 4K Blu-ray : was $15.13 now $1,249 at Amazon

While a 17% saving may not sound like much, this is actually the lowest price Nosferatu has ever been on 4K Blu-ray.

Nosferatu, starring Lily Rose Depp, Nicolas Hoult and Bill Skarsgård, is a remake of Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (1922). It tells the story of Ellen (Depp), who finds her life entwined with a powerful being called Count Orlock (Skarsgård), who in turn re-enters her life after luring Ellen's husband Thomas Hutter (Hoult) to Transylvania.

Nosferatu was featured in the December 2024 edition of our Blu-ray Bounty feature and has since entered my testing rotation when I test the best TVs. It has rich, inky deep black levels that are perfect for OLED, as well as realistic and natural textures and powerful contrast.

As you'd expect with a haunting movie like this, it also some truly nerve-shredding sound design that is accurately mapped and with the right surround system, will have you on the edge of your seat.

Inglorious Basterds

Inglorious Basterds 4K Blu-ray
Inglorious Basterds 4K Blu-ray : was $12.21 now $9.99 at Amazon

This deal knocks 18% off Tarantino's WWII violence-filled, dark comedy movie. It has been a $1 cheaper before, but this is still a healthy discount.

Inglorious Basterds, directed by Quentin Tarantino, is a satirical war movie that tells the story of two plots to assassinate Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) a Nazi SS colonel during WWII. It features an ensemble cast, with Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender and Eli Roth.

Tarantino's movies are known for their outlandish and over-the-top violence and Inglorious Basterds is no different. With a striking, vibrant color profile and strong contrast, it's destined to look great on 4K Blu-ray.

With a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio soundtrack, speech is prioritized here but other effects are nuanced and perfect for both explosive scenes, such as the theater gunfights, and tense sequences, such as Landa's search in a farmhouse.

Akira (1988)

Akira 4K Blu-ray
Akira 4K Blu-ray : was $29.98 now $11.99 at Amazon

This deal knocks a massive 60% off the Akira 4K Blu-ray, which is a record-low price. An essential to add to any anime fan's collection.

Akira (1988), is one of the most groundbreaking anime movies ever released, known primarily for its influence within the cyberpunk genre and for bringing anime to a more international audience. It tells the story of Shōtarō Kaneda, a biker whose friend develops telekinetic abilities which leads to chaos in a dystopian 2019 Neo-Tokyo.

Richly animated with glorious colors and visually striking animation, Akira looks great even in standard Blu-ray (which I currently own) but with an upscale in textures and a further clean-up, this stunning anime will look even better in 4K.

It features a Dolby TrueHD soundtrack, in both English and Japanese dubs, which should accurately captured the action packed shootouts and octane-fueled bike scenes.

Blade Runner: Final Cut

Blade Runner: Final Cut 4K Blu-ray
Blade Runner: Final Cut 4K Blu-ray : was $34.98 now $12.99 at Amazon

This deal takes the 4k Blu-ray of Blade Runner: Final Cut down to $12.99, which is a massive 63% off. This isn't the lowest price its ever been, it's been $9.99 before, but it is the cheapest it's been in some time.

Blade Runner (1982) is a classic of the sci-fi genre and another influential movie within the cyberpunk genre. It tells the sorry of Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a bounty hunter who agrees to track down a group of violent androids led by Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer).

The movie has a ton of scenes where dark and light contrast in the neon-soaked streets of 2019 dystopian Los Angeles that will be perfect for OLED or high-end mini-LED TV. I own this movie on Blu-ray and its one of those striking movies that I know will benefit from a 4K upgrade, with sharper textures and even richer contrast.

With a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, the ever-present rain in Blade Runner is a perfect demonstration for an Atmos home theater system. There's the bustling streets, overhead flying vehicles and of course Vangelis' epic, sometimes euphoric-sounding, score.

Back to the Future Trilogy - Ultimate edition

Back to the Future - Ultimate Trilogy 4K Blu-ray
Back to the Future - Ultimate Trilogy 4K Blu-ray : was $54.99 now $27.99 at Amazon

Own the 4K Blu-ray set of one of cinema's most iconic trilogies for 50% off this Prime Day: Back to the Future Trilogy- Ultimate Edition is down to a record-low $27.99.

Back to the Future is one of the 1980s' most iconic movies that has become a central part of the cultural zeitgeist. Michael J. Fox stars as high schooler Marty McFly, who accidentally ends up back in 1955, where he meets his future parents, after his friend Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) invents a time machine (out of a DeLorean?). This set is for all three movies in the trilogy.

I have personally owned the Back to the Future trilogy in nearly every format possible: VHS, DVD, Blu-ray – you name it. The first is my favorite movie of all time and I can't believe I've never bitten the bullet on the 4K.

I have seen the 4K version of Back to the Future and its bursting with color and its textures are crisp and natural, with accurate skin tones and refined detail. It's a real step-up over the standard Blu-ray. It also comes with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack to capture all the action-packed sci-fi effects and Alan Silvestri's timeless score.

Se7en

Se7en 4K Blu-ray
Se7en 4K Blu-ray : was $24.99 now $17.99 at Amazon

This 28% discount is the cheapest we've ever seen the Se7en 4K Blu-ray, beating the previous record-low by $3. One of the stand-out deals of Amazon's 4K Blu-ray sale.

Se7en, directed by David Fincher, is a stand-out of the modern-day crime/noir genre, with one of the best twist in cinema. It follows Detectives Somerset (Morgan Freeman) and Mills (Brad Pitt) as they pursue a serial killer whose MO is to commit killings based on the seven deadly sins.

Se7en was featured in the January 2025 edition of the Blu-ray Bounty and its first time on 4K Blu-ray didn't disappoint. Blacks are deep and rich and high-contrast scenes look glorious. Textures have had a real upgrade, looking more refined and crisp than ever.

A DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack is more than enough to capture the tense, eerie atmosphere throughout the movie, with the string-heavy score setting the nerves on edge and even though there were no height channels, rain still felt like it came from overhead.

Roku Pro Series 65-inch TV
Roku Pro Series 65-inch TV: was $1,199.99 now $599.99 at Amazon

This might be the Prime Day deal of the day! We already rated this as arguably the best mid-range TV you could buy, and at half price it's basically unbeatable. In our Roku Pro Series review, we said that its image quality is "very good", its sound is nearly as good as it gets, and that its shadowbox design makes it more wall-mount friendly than most other TVs – and definitely than most TVs of this price. Do you want a TV that looks great, is really easy to use, is great for next-gen gaming, and has premium design elements? This half price deal is fantastic. Check out the 55-inch version for $499 and the 75-inch version for $799 if you want other sizes.

Samsung S84F OLED TV 65-inch
Samsung S84F OLED TV 65-inch: was $1,999.99 now $999.99 at Best Buy

Yes, this is a 2025 65-inch TV for under $1,000. This is basically the same TV as the Samsung S85F, which we liked very much in our review, but it just lacks a few features – the most notable being Filmmaker Mode. We'd actually recommend mostly watching in Movie Mode anyway, so that's not so bad, and the overall picture quality and features list for this price is unbelievable.

LG C5 OLED TV 65-inch
LG C5 OLED TV 65-inch: was $2,696.99 now $1,387.99 at Amazon

A near record-low price – this has risen in price by $15 since yesterday, but I don't think that matters much. I rate this as the best TV on the planet right now when it comes to balancing price, picture quality and features. And for this price at 65 inches, it's just a fantastic deal – premium pictures, every feature you could need, elite gaming… the works. We gave it 5 stars in our LG C5 review, and we give them even harder at this price. If you want a great smaller gaming TV, the 48-inch version is now just $899.
