This is not a drill – a 2025 flagship iPhone just got a £100 discount for Black Friday
The iPhone Air – Apple’s contribution to the emerging thin-and-light smartphone trend – made waves when it replaced the iPhone 16 Plus as the “middle-child” iPhone earlier this year. And now, it’s set to make waves again with a surprise Black Friday discount at Amazon, where you can get the iPhone Air for £899.10 (was £999).

It’s incredibly rare to see big cash discounts for current-generation flagship iPhones during the Black Friday deals season, or indeed at any time in the first year after launch. A discount of £100 (okay, technically £99.90) is certainly more than I thought we’d see for Apple’s “sexiest iPhone ever” (per our iPhone Air review).
Today's best iPhone Air Black Friday deal
Well, this is a surprise - we don't normally see price cuts on current-gen iPhones during Black Friday, but this £99.90 discount on Amazon is certainly a welcome sight. The iPhone Air is the thinnest iPhone ever, but still packs a hardware punch thanks to its 6.5-inch ProMotion display, A19 Pro chipset, 48MP camera, and 256GB of storage.
So, what makes the iPhone Air itself so special? For starters, the iPhone Air is the thinnest iPhone of all time at just 5.6mm thick, and having briefly used the phone myself, I can tell you it’s possibly the most beautiful, too. Its 6.5-inch display and rear panel are made from Ceramic Shield 2 glass, with a polished titanium frame; it’s as much of a fashion statement as an iPhone has ever been.
Apple has achieved this by shifting most of the phone’s essential components – like the top-end A19 Pro chipset – into the raised camera “plateau”, which also houses the single 48MP fusion camera. That lone camera was the focus of much discussion when the iPhone Air launched and remains a real consideration for potential buyers who are used to premium phones with multiple rear lenses.
Pushing the iPhone Air’s core components into that plateau means Apple could fill the rest of the chassis with as much battery as possible – which, given the phone’s slim frame, was absolutely the right thing to prioritise. In our testing, the iPhone Air lasted an entire work day, but didn’t quite make it through a full dawn-to-dusk day of use. It’s a good thing the phone supports MagSafe and USB-C charging for easy top-ups.
If I can put on my speculation hat for a moment, I think this deal comes at a pretty conspicuous time, given recent rumors of poor iPhone Air sales. I think Apple’s at it’s best when it’s making weird and unique products like the iPhone Air. Still, it seems that general audiences are leaning towards the great-value iPhone 17 or the all-out power of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max – which could be why we’re seeing such a substantial cash discount on the “middle child” iPhone Air.
More Black Friday phone deals
In the UK, you can grab the Google Pixel 10 for a smaller £100 discount at Amazon. Though not quite as head-turning a deal as the one we're seeing in the US, this is still a decent discount on a great phone, and should be a consideration for anyone looking for a powerful new Android handset.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra takes everything that the Galaxy S24 Ultra has to offer and amplifies it to make one of the best Android phones we've ever tried. Through Galaxy AI, Google Gemini, and Bixby, this phone embeds AI deeply into the experience of every user. Right now, the 256GB version is down to a record-low price, though you can also save £250 on the 512GB model if you want more storage.
The Google Pixel 10 is £200 off in this Black Friday deal at Currys, which is a bigger discount than we'd normally expect to see on a recently-released flagship phone. The Google Pixel 10 launched in August, with a beautiful 6.3-inch display, a compact frame, extended battery life, a new telephoto camera, and support for magnetic PixelSnap accessories. Seeing such a big discount so soon after launch is rare.
