FAQs

Does HP offer free shipping?

Yes - HP offers free shipping sitewide via the official HP Store. Shipping time for the standard free delivery option is 5 to 7 business days, depending on the item you're buying. If you'd prefer expedited shipping, there's also the option to pay extra for a speedier delivery window. Note that you can also track shipping for your orders via your HP account.

Does HP offer a military or student discount?

Yes to both - HP offers a 40% sitewide discount for both students and those who are affiliated with the military. These extremely generous discount programs can be accessed on the HP Education store page and the HP Frontline Heroes portal. Note that the education discount applies to both students and teachers and the Frontline discount is available to most key workers (military, healthcare, first responders). All discounts will need relevant identification to prove eligibility (a .edu email, and an ID.me account).

How can I contact HP support?

If you're looking for support or advice regarding an order, you can call the HP sales team directly on 800-565-9917. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to use a live chat or consult self-help resources, you can check out the HP contact page. For help or support with an existing HP product, you can contact HP tech support and check out a number of helpful online resources on their website.

Are HP laptops good?

HP makes great laptops. In fact, it's one of the few manufacturers that offers decent options at all price points - from sub $200 cheap and cheerful machines to $1,000. Just a few of the best HP laptops we've reviewed here at TechRadar include:

HP Spectre x360: One of the best ultrabooks money can buy, this superbly premium machine represents the very best that HP has to offer. While you'll find a number of configurations available, the Spectre x360's main selling points include a gorgeous all-metal design, excellent touchscreen display, and handy 2-in-1 form factor. It's a pricey machine but one that's worth the bucks if you want something that's portable, powerful, and stylish. See our HP Spectre x360 (2022) review for more details.

HP Elite Dragonfly G2: Another high-end ultrabook from the brand, the HP Elite Dragonfly G2 is quite similar to the Spectre range but it's generally more focused on the business and Pro market. That means you'll get a few key upgrades to the web cam, a few more ports (HDMI), and options for cellular connectivity. See our HP Elite Dragonfly G2 review for more details.

HP Envy 14: This is the model you'll want to check out if you're looking for a powerful laptop that doesn't completely break the bank. This mid-range laptop generally features fairly high-end components at a price that's much more reasonable than the Spectre range. The trade off is that the design and build tends to be a little heavier and bulkier (although it's still great). See our HP Envy 14 review for more details.

HP Chromebook x2 11: It's not super cheap but the HP x2 11 is one of the best Chromebooks you can buy right now. For the price, it's a solid performer and the 1440p display is absolutely fantastic. Battery life is top-notch (as you'd expect from a Chromebook), and it also features a really great keyboard that lends perfectly to productivity tasks. Check out our HP Chromebook x2 11 review for more details.

HP Victus 15: Looking to game but don't want to break the bank? The HP Victus 15 is a great choice for the budget-concious. This range of machines feature a fairly unremarkable but functional design, a number of excellent configurations, and a price that generally runs under the $1,000 mark. While battery life is pretty poor (as with most gaming laptops), the low-key design and decent performance means this one can double up as a machine for both work and play. Check out our HP Victus 15 review for more details.

Can I stack HP coupon codes?

Unfortunately not. If you're applying HP coupon codes it's strictly one at a time. However, you may be able to stack a coupon code saving on top of an existing sales price, if eligible. This may also apply to exclusive student and military discounts, if you're eligible for those in addition.

HP hints and tips

Wait until a sales event

Quite possibly the most valuable tip regardless of which store you're shopping at - generally speaking you'll get the best deals and coupon codes around big retail events. The most obvious call-out here is Black Friday in November, but you'll also find smaller (but still great) sales around national holidays like Presidents' Day, Labor Day, and Memorial Day. HP usually participates in retail events so it's a great idea to hold off and see what crops up if you're relatively close to the next event.

Sign up for the HP newsletter

This is a minor tip, but a handy little way to save a bit of cash on your next offer. Navigate to the HP website to sign up to the newsletter. Not only will you be the first to know about big retail events like the ones mentioned above, but HP will also knock $10 off your next order of $60 or more in value.

Student and military discounts

As we've already mentioned in this article, the HP Store operates both a discount program for students and teachers, as well as front-line workers and those associated with the military. As long as you can prove your eligibility, you'll be able to get a saving of up to 40% so it's well worth taking the extra steps to verify.

Don't forget HP rewards

HP operates a customer reward scheme that could see you earning up to 3% back from your purchases. You can sign up for free to make sure you're earning points from the offset. While this tip isn't so handy for saving on your first order, it could be a great way to save a few bucks down the line - on replacement ink packs or computing accessories, for example.

HP can price match

Spotted a better price at a rival retailer? The HP sales team will price match an equivilent machine at the official HP Store website. Interestingly, it doesn't have to specifically be a HP model for price matching to be eligible - only a machine of comparable specification. HP defines a comparable PC as one that's manufactured by Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Samsung and HP and available at a major online retailer.
