Australia's Black Friday sales are arguably the biggest and most popular shopping event on the calendar and if there's one retailer many of us are keen on checking out during a major sale, it's Amazon.

The Amazon Black Friday sale in Australia typically starts about a week before the official date, if not earlier, but always ends on Cyber Monday. So we're looking at about a November 20 start, since Black Friday 2026 is on November 27, and will then likely end of November 30 (which is Cyber Monday).

Keep in mind that Amazon AU won't officially announce its Black Friday sale dates until a week before it starts, so take those date predictions with a pinch of salt, although given I've covered every single Amazon sale in Australia since its launch in December 2017, I've picked up on some patterns.

Another pattern is that early deals will kick of about 24-48 hours prior and is typically Amazon's own devices. You can also grab other Amazon subscription services like Music Unlimited, Audible and Kindle Unlimited for free for a few months during this time, even if you're a returning customer.

While most Amazon Black Friday deals aren't Prime exclusive, there will be some, so it's best to ensure you are armed with a subscription. The bad news is that Amazon has just announced a price increase that goes into effect immediately for new customers, but I still think that it's worth the new AU$12.99 monthly price, but only if you are a regular Amazon shopper and will make full use of all its inclusions. New customers will also get the usual 30-day free trail, so if you sign up just ahead of the sale, you can always cancel after November 30 to avoid paying the fee.

While we wait for Amazon AU to announce its official Black Friday dates, take a look at the below guide to ensure you're prepared to find the best deals quickly.

Amazon Australia Black Friday 2026 sale: key information

What date will Amazon's Black Friday 2026 sale start?

We don't have an official start date for the Amazon Black Friday sale in Australia this year. We can, however, make some educated guesses.

For example, in 2025, Amazon AU's Black Friday sale began 10 days prior to the official date. If the same pattern holds true, then we can expect the sale to begin on Tuesday, November 17. We will need to wait for an official announcement, though.

What we can tell for sure is the end date as Amazon always finished on Cyber Monday, which is November 30 this year.

How long does Black Friday on Amazon Australia last?

The last few years, Amazon AU has started its Black Friday sale earlier than the official date and, in 2023, extended it beyond Cyber Monday. In 2024 and 2025, the sale ended on Cyber Monday.

Taking that into account, the Amazon Black Friday sale in Australia typically lasts about two weeks.

Keep in mind that Amazon changes its offers during this two-week period. So if you don't see something you want or need at the start of the sale, hang tight, you could get lucky.

Can you get free Amazon delivery without Prime?

Yes, you can get free Australian delivery even if you're not a Prime member, but you will need to make eligible purchases of over AU$49. These are only select products that are shipped and sold by Amazon AU or sold by third-party sellers but shipped by Amazon AU. They will be marked as 'Free Delivery' on the product's listing page.

You will, however, still need to sign up for a free Amazon account, but this does not get you expedited delivery — free and fast delivery is only for Prime members. The good news is you'll know when to expect your purchases as Amazon usually provides the estimated delivery date when you head to checkout.

Is Amazon Black Friday sale better than Prime Day?

In Australia, there isn't a huge difference in the kind of discounts you'll see during the July Prime Day sale and Amazon's Black Friday sale, although we have seen many retailers and brands offer record-low prices during the latter shopping event. The difference in price could well be marginal though, often just a dollar less in November compared to the July price.

There are exceptions to the rule always, of course, and that is at the discretion of the brand or retailer selling on Amazon. For example, you might find Dyson offers up to 55% off during Prime Day on one of its coveted products, but the Black Friday discount could be 58%. These are rare and, more often than not, we've seen the Prime Day prices being matched in November.

Is Amazon cheaper on Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

In Australia, the main four-day weekend between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is called the Cyber Weekend and is, on paper, the same sale. So there won't be any difference in prices if you shop on Amazon on Black Friday (November 27) or Cyber Monday (November 30).

However, since Amazon is known to change its offers during its big sales, you could see some items drop in price but others might get more expensive. If you compare prices at the start of the 2-week Amazon Black Friday sale, though, you will see better discounts during the actual 4-day Cyber Weekend.

Amazon Australia Black Friday deals 2026: deal predictions

Being such a massive online retailer, it can be difficult to know what to look for during Amazon’s Black Friday deals. And with the site stocking such a huge range of items, it’s sometimes tricky to predict exactly which devices will see the best offers come November.

Amazon does have its strengths and weaknesses — it’s a great place to head for deals on Amazon’s Echo range of smart home devices, Garmin smartwatches, Dyson vacuums and styling tools, premium audio gear and so much more. Just don't expect the nee 2026 Kindles to be discounted this November.

When it comes to tech though, there’s one big category that Amazon is missing, and that’s TVs. If you do want a new telly this November, check out other retailers like JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys or Appliances Online.

I should point out that it's also getting hard to find good Apple discounts on Amazon these days. While AirPods will definitely get a discount, don't expect the iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max to see a significant price cut. Even cameras on Amazon aren't seeing good discounts these days, so keep an eye on specialist retailers like Ted's Cameras or Camera House if you're after a new snapper or a good lens.

Game consoles, despite the price hike, will see some kind of discount, but it's getting harder to predict how much cheaper they'll be or whether stock will be enough for the deal to last beyond a day or two of the sale.

Amazon will frequently price match, or even price beat, its online competitors, and we've seen that happen over the last couple of Black Friday sales. Keep this in mind while you hunt for deals from various retailers, as you might be able to secure more savings this way.

At any time on its site, Amazon has three types of deals going: there’s Lightning Deals that are only available for a few hours, Deal of the Day that will last for 24 hours and regular deals that will be live for the entire sale period.

It’s also worth noting that Australians will have access to select deals from the Amazon sites in other countries too – specifically the US, UK, Germany and Japan – and they’ll all be visible on our local website. There can be great value in these deals too, but just keep in mind they’ll be the international version of the product and could face shipping delays, or come with international power plugs.

You’ll often find that Amazon’s own products, such as Echo devices, Kindles and Fire TV Sticks, will be available for the same price throughout the Black Friday to Cyber Monday weekend, but if you’re looking for other items, you’ll need to keep checking Amazon’s site — or stick with us if it's the best tech deals you're after.
