FAQs

How long does Dell take to deliver?

Your Dell order delivery date varies depending on what you're ordering. Some products are available as free next-day delivery, so if you order before 5pm you'll have the item delivered within the next working day. Custom-built PCs or laptops with certain hardware changes take longer as you need to wait for the item to be built. In all cases, you can view an estimated shipping date and an estimated delivery date. The former tells you when the item will be shipped from Dell while the latter tells you when to expect your order.

Which courier does Dell use in UK?

Dell uses three different couriers: Syncreon, UPS, and DHL to deliver your items. In all cases, there's free delivery on whatever you order from Dell with no minimum purchase required. In some cases, items can be delivered separately such as if you've ordered third-party products alongside a new Dell desktop or laptop.

Does Dell have a discount scheme?

Dell offers an extensive discount scheme for students, NHS staff members, educational workers and military personnel.

The Dell Advantage for Students program, specifically, gives you discounts that change throughout the year. During back to school season, for instance, it includes 15% off XPS laptops and 15% off certain monitors. You'll need to use your academic email address to receive the Dell coupon code.

Is Dell Refurbished owned by Dell?

Yes. Dell Refurbished is a subsidiary of Dell itself. You can trust any of the items for sale as they've gone through Dell's refurbishment process to ensure they're in an "as new" condition. Dell assigns a cosmetic grade to its all products so you know whether the system has minor scratches or anything more significant.

How do I contact Dell?

There are a variety of ways to contact Dell. The quickest way is to use its online chat facility via the Contact Us page. It's also possible to request a callback through the same form. If you prefer to call them yourself, the phone number differs depending on if you want technical support or sales support. For technical support, you can message 07741 765 144 on WhatsApp 24/7. Alternatively, you can phone 0800 028 2660 between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday for basic hardware support. To contact sales support, call 0800 587 1456.

Hints and Tips

Check the Dell deals section: If it's a day ending in "y", Dell almost certainly has a wide selection of deals available. These cover everything it sells from laptops to desktop PCs and monitors. In many cases, you can order something and receive it the next business day so it's a good way of quickly snapping up a bargain. Often, you can still configure the laptop to match your needs if you want to make some adjustments.

See if you're eligible for a discount: Students, educational staff, NHS workers and military employees are all automatically eligible for discounts providing they can prove their relevant affiliation. However, many companies also offer a customer employee discount as part of a wider scheme so it's worth checking to see if your employer is one of those companies.

Buy Dell refurbished products: Dell has an extensive refurbished store with plenty of discounts on its entire product range. These devices are often returns so they're almost as good as new. They've been checked over by Dell and in some cases, you may see a cosmetic grade next to them to explain what condition they're in. Stock can change on a daily basis so do your research and be ready to buy quickly if you find the right device for your needs.

Sign up for Dell rewards: Signing up for Dell rewards is free but offers you a way to earn and then redeem points towards other purchases. You can also earn points by logging in regularly, playing games, or even just filling out your online profile. Once you've accrued enough points, you can convert them to cash on purchases over £100. There are member-only offers along with other exclusive extras so there's absolutely nothing to lose by signing up. If you plan on buying frequently from Dell, you should profit the most.

Use the Dell price match policy: Dell has a price match policy on all of its goods. If you see a Dell product cheaper at another retailer, you can call 0800 0845 4961 to price match it. That can be useful in conjunction with offers like the Dell rewards program or if you simply prefer to buy direct from Dell. The company also guarantees the lowest price if the price drops in the month after you've purchased it so it's worth keeping an eye on.

How we source voucher codes

At TechRadar, we have a number of tools at our disposal to help us find the latest voucher codes. Our Vouchers team uses connections with big name brands, our affiliate networks, and the world wide web to source the latest & best codes for our pages. Each page is updated multiple times a week with sales info, exclusive codes negotiated by our Commercial team, and a number of ways to save on your next online order.

How we test voucher codes

Every code listed on TechRadar is tested before it’s added to our pages by our Vouchers team. We include a range of offers including student discounts, sale prices, free shipping, & more across a number of categories of products & services. Each code is checked to ensure it is accepted at the checkout, and you won’t find any one-time use or user-specific codes.

The expiry date and any terms & conditions of each code are also displayed on the page, next to or below the ‘Get Code’ button, for added clarity. Click the text that reads ‘Terms & Conditions’ to expand the corresponding area, where you can read more about any requirements your order will need to meet in order for your chosen coupon to be accepted.

What to do if a voucher code doesn’t work

We take the utmost care to verify every code before it’s uploaded, and include as much relevant information as we can find to make using our codes as straightforward as possible. However, sometimes codes expire or are amended before we’re able to refresh our pages, and codes may not work as intended.

Should you experience any issues, it’s always best to start by checking the terms & conditions on the page. Click  “View terms and conditions” and the code area will expand. You’ll see all applicable criteria listed in this area. For example, you may not meet a required minimum spend (i.e. spend £20 or more); you may not have enough times in your basket (e.g. you have only selected 2 products when trying to redeem a 3 for 2 multibuy offer), or your chosen offer may only apply to a certain type of product (i.e. 10% off laptops).

If issues persist once you’ve checked that you’ve met any necessary requirements, you can get in touch with our support team by emailing coupons.techradar@futurenet.com. Please provide as much detail about your issue as possible - including which code you used and where you found it - and we’ll be in touch to provide support as soon as we can.

How we make money

All the money TechRadar makes through its voucher pages is earned through a commission-based model. We have deals in place with every retailer that has a voucher page on our site, and every time someone makes a purchase using one of our codes, we earn a percentage of the total basket value back in commission.

Thanks to this model, we can offer all of our codes & discounts completely free of charge. You’ll never be asked to pay a fee to redeem an offer on our site - all you’ll pay is the discounted price of the products or services you’ve chosen to buy.

If you want to find out more about TechRadar’s voucher pages, you can visit our dedicated page on How We Source Voucher Codes and How to Use Them for more information.

About Dell

Dell is one of the biggest technology companies in the world. It makes desktop PCs, laptops, servers, monitors, computer peripherals, printers, and many other devices. It also owns Alienware, which is best known for making some of the best gaming laptops and the best gaming monitors. Dell was founded in 1984 by Michael Dell while he was a student at the University of Texas. His idea was that customers liked being able to buy PCs directly rather than having to go through other routes. Dell is now the third-largest PC vendor in the world. It supplies many businesses with their PCs and server infrastructure, as well as devices for home users. Its range includes budget-priced laptops right up to high-end desktop PCs.
