Revolut coupon codes for May 2026

FAQs

Is it free to open a Revolut account?

You can open a Revolut account for free if you choose the company's Standard plan, which offers an American bank account with the choice of physical or digital cards and access to a high-yield savings account with 4% APY.

On this plan, in-network ATM withdrawals are free (with a 2% fee for out-of-network ATMs), plus you'll have access to currency exchange (up to $1000 a year with no fees and 0.5% fees for money above this limit), as well as basic saving features.

What kind of plans does Revolut offer?

Revolut customers can choose from the brand's free and paid plans. As mentioned above, Standard does not incur account fees and offers physical and digital cards, free in-network ATM withdrawals, and free currency exchanges worth up to $1000 a year (with a 0.5% after this limit).

The company's two paid tiers - Premium and Metal - are available paid monthly or annually, and cost $9.99 or $16.99 a month respectively. Choosing one of these plans will bring a number of additional perks you won't get on Standard.

What are the benefits of a Premium or Metal plan?

First of all, both the Premium and Metal plan come with an exclusive physical card (which, in the case of Metal plans, is genuinely made of metal). These accounts also waive the 2% fee for out-of-network ATM withdrawals up to a set total, with $800 per year allowed on Premium and $1200 a year permitted on Metal accounts.

Both Premium and Metal offer benefits in terms of international currencies and travel. First, your currency exchange limit is increased - Premium allows you up to $10,000 a year for exchange before fees are applied, whilst Metal gives you unlimited free currency exchanges so you'll never pay for holiday spending money.

You'll also get 20% off international transfer fees with Premium and 40% off with Metal. Both accounts also waive out-of-hours fees for international transfers between Friday 5PM and Sunday 6AM.

If you use the high-yield savings account the brand offers, you'll get a higher APY rate applied to your savings account, too. Where Standard offers 4% PAY, Premium offers 4.5% and Metal increases this to 5.5%.

The perks don't stop there, either - a Premium or Metal account also includes discounts on airport lounge access, and free travel insurance covering medical needs and delayed, lost or damaged luggage.

Metal plans go further with even more bonuses such as everyday insurance to cover your purchases, plus paid subscriptions with big-name brands including the likes of NordVPN, ClassPass and the Financial Times (through Financial Times Digital).

How competitive are Revolut's currency exchange rates?

If you're looking to sort travel money and want to get the best rates, you'll be pleased to hear that Revolut often manages to keep pace with mid-market rates, making them comparable to those of many other major providers. If in doubt, you can use the in-app currency converter to check rates right now before you make your purchase. Unless you have a Premium or Metal plan, however, you'll want to try and process payments during weekdays (outside of Friday 5PM to Sunday 6AM) to avoid the 1% exchange fee.

Does Revolut charge for international transfer?

It is completely free to transfer money to other Revolut accounts, but if you're sending to international accounts with other providers, you'll be charged around 0.3% fees on the amount you're sending, with a 20% discount on these amounts if you're on a Premium plan and 40% off if you're on Metal.

Does Revolut charge personal fees?

Even on a Standard plan, you should be aware that you may be charged some fees for certain transactions. For instance, although adding money to your account via bank transfer is completely free, you will pay up to 1% for transactions made via Domestic Personal Debit Card, up to 3% for [payments via Domestic Personal Credit Card (US-issued or otherwise), and $10 for US Wire transfers.

It's also worth noting that if you're making an payment in a currency that differs from the local currency (e.g. paying in Euros to UK accounts), you will be charged a flat $30 fee (regardless of whether the payment is international or domestic). You can find more details on the fees Revolut charges on its website.

Does Revolut charge for cards?

Yes. You will be charged $4.99 for your first physical card, with replacement cards available for $4.99 on the Standard plan. Cards sent with standard delivery may be shipped free, but can incur fees up to $5 depending on your address. If you need to receive your cards sooner, you can also opt for Expedited Priority for $16.99, or Global Express for $19.99. Note that digital cards are completely free and do not need to delivered - just added to your app.

Does Revolut offer a kids account?

If you have a Revolut account, no matter the plan tier you're on, you can access up to five kids and teens accounts linked to your own, allowing you to help family members aged 13 - 17 to learn to manage their money.

Once their accounts have been approved, your kids will get their own prepaid debit card managed through the app, with a suite of basic budgeting, saving, and spending tools to help increase their confidence managing money.

They'll only be able to transfer to trusted contacts you set and control, plus you'll be able to freeze and unfreeze their card from your account, and you'll be notified every time they make a transaction.

Does Revolut support stock trading?

Yes, if you want to start trading stocks or manage an existing portfolio, Revolut supports investing in the stock over 4,000 companies from as little as $1. The brand doesn't charge any commission fees or charge custody or withdrawal fees to take out your equity, and between biometric sign-in and approval and security algorithms designed to detect suspicious activity, you can rest easy knowing you're trading on a secure platform.

If you want a hands-off approach to investing, you can even make use of the auto-investor, which can create and manage a personalized portfolio, with the option to direct portions of your salary or the remainder left from rounding up card spends into your portfolio on a regular basis. Unlike the basic stocks account, using the auto-investor will incur a 0.25% fee each year.

Revolut Saving tips

Look for new sign-up offers

Although somewhat infrequently, Revolut does sometimes offer customers discounted subscription fees on its Premium and Metal plans as part of promotional offers to entice new customers, which we've previously seen offer as much as 20% off.

This can take the form of a discount if you opt for annual versus monthly plans, free trials to give you time to test out the service, or a straight-up discount regardless of the type of plan you choose.

Here at TechRadar, we keep a close eye on any promotions the company is offering, adding any info we find on currently active promotions to this page whenever we can, so check back in whenever you're considering signing up for the best chance to save.

Refer a friend

If you know someone who'd like Revolut, good news - you can refer them to the brand to get between $10 - $100 cash added to your account. To get started, you'll need to head to find the "Refer" button in your app to generate a referral link. Send it to your friend, and once they've successfully opened an account, topped it up, received their physical card and made a certain number of purchases with said card (detailed in your invite link), your rewards will be paid direct to your account as a thank you.

Stick to Standard

If you're looking for a no-frills banking app that offers a decent APY rate, basic savings functionality and a decent currency exchange amount fee-free, you may find that the Standard plan is all you need. Although you won't get all the perks of Metal or Premium, the plan is completely free, so offers a cost-effective way to get started with digital banking if you're on a budget.

Consider Metal or Premium

That said, both paid plans come with a number of benefits that can help you save money on purchases and fees and get more from your savings, so they can be well worth considering. Premium comes in at $9.99 a month, whilst Metal costs $16.99 a month, the benefits these plans offer can more than make up for the cost if you're a frequent spender.

These benefits include the likes of: free out-of-network ATM withdrawal; higher limits on or even limitless fee-free currency exchanges; discounts on international transfer fees (of either 20% or 40%); waived out-of-hours fees; higher savings rates (up to 5.5%); discounted airport lounge access; free insurance; and free subscriptions with the likes of NordVPN and the Financial Times.

How we source coupon codes

Whether it's through our affiliate networks, the depths of the world wide web, or our connections with big name brands, here at TechRadar we use every tool at our disposal to source the latest codes.

Our coupons team updates each of our pages multiple times a week with the most recent deals, including exclusive coupons negotiated by our Commercial team. We also include the latest sales info directly from retailers to offer the most up-to-date discounts around.

How we test coupon codes

Each coupon you find on TechRadar has been tested before being uploaded by our dedicated Deals & Offers teams. You’ll see a range of offers, from free shipping to student discounts, with savings available on all kinds of products & services. To make sure every coupon is ready to use, we don’t list any user-specific or one-time codes.

We also include all relevant information about coupons, such as expiry dates and any terms & conditions, near the ‘Get Code’ button. You can see the details for an individual offer by clicking on the ‘Terms & Conditions’ text below the code and expanding the code area.

What to do if a coupon code doesn’t work

Although we do our best to ensure all listed codes are tried & tested, sometimes coupons expire or terms & conditions are changed before we can update pages. Our team works hard to make sure our coupons are active and work as intended, and should you encounter an issue when using one, we’ll work just as hard to help.

The best place to start is by checking the requirements. Click “View terms and conditions” to expand the code section and see any guidance on your chosen coupon. For example, you may need to meet a minimum spend, add other items to your basket to qualify for a multibuy offer, or confirm that your chosen code applies to the items in your basket (i.e. 10% off laptops).

If you’re still having issues using your code, you can email our customer service team on coupons.techradar@futurenet.com. Include as many details as possible - such as which code you used and which coupon page it’s listed on so our team can address your issue as fast as possible.

How we make money

When it comes to coupons, TechRadar earns money via a commission-based model. For every brand we have a coupon page for, we’ve negotiated a deal that means we earn a percentage of total basket value in commission back from every order.

Using this model means we can offer our coupons to our customers free of charge. You won’t pay any fees to add your chosen coupon to your basket - you’ll simply pay the final order total once your discount has been applied.
