Is eToro FSCS protected?
Yes, eToro is FSCS protected for UK investors, If eToro were to ever go bankrupt or fail as a company, your funds are protected up to £85,000.
Its important to note The FSCS protects you against the eToro failing. It does not protect you from the stock market. If you make a bad trade and you lose money, you cannot claim that money back.
Does eToro have a stocks and shares ISA?
No, eToro does not offer a Stocks & Shares ISA you get a general investment account. Because of this, gains are subject to taxation.
Are eToro fees high?
It depends entirely on what you are trading. eToro charges 0% commission when you buy or sell real stocks, there are no management fees or ticketing fees, making it one of the cheapest platforms for building a traditional, long-term portfolio.
eToro instead makes its money through operational and account fees, for example: eToro will charge you a currency conversion fee to turn your GBP into USD. They also charge this again when you withdraw your money back to your UK bank.
How do I contact eToro?
The most reliable way to contact eToro is to open a support ticket, to do so you need to go to the Customer Service Centre on the eToro website or app.
There is also a 24/5 Live Chat feature, but it is only available to eToro Club members which is users who have an equity balance of $5,000 or more
eToro Saving tips
Use the built-in wallet
eToro officially discontinued the standalone eToro Money app in February 2026. However, they moved all of its features directly into the main eToro app under the Wallet tab. Because eToro's trading accounts are in USD, depositing GBP directly incurs a 1.5% conversion fee. To avoid this, deposit your GBP into your built-in local currency wallet first, and then transfer it to your USD trading account.
Skip the $5 withdrawal fee
eToro charges a flat $5 fee when you withdraw money directly from your USD account to your bank account. However, if you transfer your funds from your USD investment account back into your eToro GBP/EUR wallet first, withdrawals from that local wallet to your UK bank account are fee-free.
Consider an eToro Club subscription
If you are a high-volume trader and move money in and out of the platform frequently, look into the eToro Club Subscription. For just £4.99 a month, it instantly bumps you up to the Platinum Tier. Platinum accounts automatically skip the $5 withdrawal fee entirely and give you a 40% discount on all conversion fees.
Avoid inactivity fees
If your account sits completely dormant for 12 months, eToro will start taking a $10 monthly inactivity fee from your uninvested cash. Logging into the app or website once a year resets this timer.
How to use an eToro coupon code
