The iPad Air could be set to get an A8 processor and the Touch ID fingerprint sensor in 2014, but a respected analyst thinks that could be it as far as iPads are concerned.
That's partly because Apple is focused on developing a 12.9-inch iPad Pro, the analyst says, but he also doesn't think that it will be ready to launch until 2015.
The iPad Air's screen size is expected to hold steady at 9.7 inches, with the larger iPad Pro likely needing a revised version of iOS 8 to make the most of that bigger display.
That software revamp could be part of the iPad Pro hold-up - Kuo reckons that Apple is prioritising software work on the version of iOS that will run on the iWatch, expected to land in 2014.
Why should you listen to what Kuo predicts? He rightly foretold most of Apple's 2013 product schedule and was first to reveal the autumn 2012 line-up too.
But, that said, he's still an analyst and not an actual Apple employee so we prescribe the regular dose of salt be taken alongside his predictions.
