The Black Friday sales in Australia have been running rampant since the start of the month, with the big day still officially being some 48 hours away. And amidst the hullabaloo of deals across tech, the nation's NBN providers have also gotten in on the action, discounting home broadband prices from the beginning of November.

From the likes of Aussie Broadband, Superloop, Tangerine and more, the best Black Friday NBN deals are the pinnacle, combining really great value with an excellent price tag. But what makes these NBN Black Friday deals even better is that we've seen some of the deepest discounts this year, with extended introductory rates spanning up to a full 12 months.

That's not all — some of these great plans include perks like streaming service subscriptions, retailer store credit and even more discounts when you bundle a mobile or phone line.

Noteworthy Black Friday NBN deals

Best NBN Black Friday deals

Tangerine | NBN 100 | 100Mbps TES | AU$68.90p/m

Tangerine | NBN 100 | 100Mbps TES | AU$68.90p/m (first 12 months, then AU$88.90p/m)

Thanks to an exemplary Black Friday discount, Tangerine is now my top pick for anyone seeking out an NBN 100 plan. It promises maximum plan speeds, is well-reviewed by customers and now offers a huge 12-month discount, making it the cheapest provider of this speed right now.

• AU$68.90 minimum cost
• AU$826.80 first year cost
• AU$1,066.80 ongoing yearly cost

Superloop | NBN 500 | 500Mbps TES | AU$65p/m

Superloop | NBN 500 | 500Mbps TES | AU$65p/m (first 6 months, then AU$95p/m ongoing)

Slashing a huge AU$30 off each month for the first 6 months, Superloop’s NBN 500 plan is ideal for anyone seeking speed and value from their internet service. Plus, the telco will supply you with an Amazon eero 7 router, which is free if you remain connected for 36 months.

• AU$65 minimum cost
• AU$960 first year cost
• AU$1,140 ongoing yearly cost

Tangerine | NBN 500 | TES unavailable | AU$68.90p/m

Tangerine | NBN 500 | TES unavailable | AU$68.90p/m (first 12 months, then AU$88.90p/m)

Tangerine’s NBN 500 plan is particularly noteworthy as it boasts a full 12-month discount, saving you a huge AU$240 off the total first year cost. The telco doesn’t yet quote a typical evening speed figure, given the plan’s relative infancy, but only a handful of other providers currently do, so this isn’t a negative against the provider.

• AU$68.90 minimum cost
• AU$826.80 first year cost
• AU$1,066.80 ongoing yearly cost

Optus | NBN 500 | 500Mbps TES | AU$84p/m

Optus | NBN 500 | 500Mbps TES | AU$84p/m (first 12 months, then AU$99p/m)

Optus has also slashed AU$15 off many of its NBN plans for the first 12 months, and it’s the NBN 500 that excites me the most. Claiming maximum download speeds during the busier evening hours, for a monthly cost roughly AU$10 cheaper than the current average, makes this a great deal. Do note that you’ll need to remain connected for 24 months to receive Optus’ modem for free, or you can BYO.

• AU$390 minimum cost (incl. modem)
• AU$1,008 first year cost
• AU$1,188 ongoing yearly cost

Buddy Telco | NBN 500 | TES unavailable | AU$0 first month

Buddy Telco | NBN 500 | TES unavailable | AU$0 first month (then AU$85p/m ongoing)

Buddy’s AU$85p/m flat fee for its NBN 500 plan is incredibly competitive, with the current average for this tier coming in at roughly AU$94p/m. It’s already alarmingly great value then, but with a cool AU$85 saved when you use the code FREEMONTH, you’ll get an extremely cost-effective and speedy broadband plan that’s hard to beat.

• AU$0 minimum cost
• AU$880 first year cost
• AU$1,020 ongoing yearly cost

Flip | NBN 750 | 640Mbps TES | AU$78p/m

Flip | NBN 750 | 640Mbps TES | AU$78p/m (first 8 months, then AU$89.90p/m)

If you want to spend as little as possible, Flip's NBN 750 plan is the one for you. It doesn't advertise absolute maximum plan speeds, but I'd argue its figure of 640Mbps is based on real-world data, meaning it's going to be pretty accurate. Here you're also getting an excellent 8-month discount and a low introductory rate. The ongoing cost is also some AU$20 less than the current average.

• AU$78 minimum cost
• AU$983.60 first year cost
AU$1,078.80 ongoing yearly cost

Superloop | NBN 1000 | 860Mbps TES | AU$79p/m

Superloop | NBN 1000 | 860Mbps TES | AU$79p/m (first 6 months, then AU$109p/m ongoing)

Thanks to a AU$30 monthly saving, Superloop’s NBN 1000 plan now takes the crown for the lowest introductory cost at AU$79p/m. This plan has long been a top recommendation of mine, even at its regular price, so this discount makes it all the more appealing. The ongoing cost is below the current AU$115 monthly average for 1Gbps speeds, and if you remain connected for 36 months you can bundle in an Amazon eero 7 router for free.

• AU$79 minimum cost
• AU$1,128 first year cost
• AU$1,308 ongoing yearly cost

Superloop | NBN 2000 | 1,700Mbps / 170Mbps TES | AU$145p/m

Superloop | NBN 2000 | 1,700Mbps / 170Mbps TES | AU$145p/m (first 6 months, then AU$165p/m ongoing)

The first out of the gate with a typical evening speed claim, Superloop promises you can achieve an average of at least 1,700Mbps download speeds in the busier evening hours on its NBN 2000 plan. Upload speed varies depending on your connection type, but there’s up to 170Mbps (from a theoretical maximum of 200Mbps) up for grabs if you’re on a full fibre connection. At AU$145p/m for the first half-year, it’s the cheapest 2Gbps plan we’re comfortable recommending… and, for greater context, it costs only slightly more than Telstra's 68x slower NBN 25 plan for the first year.

• AU$145 minimum cost
• AU$1,860 first year cost
• AU$1,980 ongoing yearly cost

Aussie Broadband | NBN 2000 | AU$169p/m using code 20BF

Aussie Broadband | NBN 2000 | AU$169p/m using code 20BF (first 6 months, then AU$189p/m)

NBN 2000 is the new top speed that only became available in September, and that newness means that, as yet, Aussie Broadband isn’t making any ‘typical evening speed’ claims. As one of Australia's most trusted NBN providers, I do have strong faith that it’ll be able to deliver close to the maximum multi-gigabit speeds that this 'Hyperfast' 2Gbps tier is capable of.

Using the code 20BF, the regular option is now discounted to AU$169p/m, for the first six months — otherwise AU$20 off the usual monthly prices. Now, hyperfast speeds won't be for everyone, but if you're a keen gamer, heavy internet user, content creator, streamer or somewhere in between, and want no interruptions when online, then this could be an option worth considering.

• AU$169 minimum cost
• AU$2,148 first yearly cost
• AU$2,268 yearly cost after discount
