The 31st season of Super Rugby Pacific will once again see 11 teams compete in a round-robin format, playing 14 matches each (seven home, seven away), with two byes. It features teams from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and a combined team from Samoa, Tonga and other Pacific Island nations, and the Crusaders are the defending champions.

The Blues could also emerge as title contenders if they are able to find more consistency. The 2024 champions snuck into the play-offs last year before producing a stunning display to sweep aside the Chiefs, but could not replicate that form as they lost in the semi-finals to the Crusaders.

While sides from New Zealand have dominated, it has now been 12 years since an Australian club lifted the trophy. Michael Cheika’s NSW Waratahs were the last team to triumph back in 2014, and there is renewed hope that one of the Waratahs, Reds, Western Force or Brumbies could go deep in the competition this year.
