How much does Babbel cost?
Babbel offers both individual and group plans of varying lengths, with the price you'll pay changing depending on which plan and the length of plan you choose and each plan including personalised lessons, games and podcasts to help you learn.
As standard, an Individual plan for 12 months costs £179.88, or £14.99 a month, but this is often discounted. You can also choose a lifetime membership for £264.99, which works out cheaper than the 12-month membership if you stay with the service for more than 18 months.
Group plans, which support up to 6 learners at once, are available for £74.85 for 3 months (£24.95 a month), or £299.40 for 12 months (also £24.95 a month). Again, these plans can also be discounted in promotional events.
Does Babbel offer a free trial?
If you haven't used Babbel before, the service lets you try your first lesson of courses level A1 - C1 completely free of charge before making you pick a plan. To get started, just create an account, download the app or head to the web browser and sign in, then access your first lesson. Once it's finished, if you decide you want to stay with the service, you'll be able to choose a plan.
Can I give Babbel as a gift?
Yes, if someone you know wants Babbel for their birthday, Christmas, an anniversary or any other occasion, you can gift them a subscription, with a choice of 3-month, 6-month, 12-month or lifetime individual plans.
A 3-month plan costs £45, a 6-month plan is £66, and a 12-month plan is £90, whilst the lifetime option comes in at £265, but can often be discounted in limited-time promotions.
To send Babbel as a gift, just purchase your chosen gift plan and you'll be sent an email containing a unique code and a printable certificate. You can then send these to the person you're gifting the service to, and they'll be able to get started as soon as they redeem the code through the brand's site.
Is there a Babbel app?
Learners can download the Babbel app for free for iOS and Android devices through the Apple App and Google Play stores. All 14 languages are supported, with interactive and personalised lessons including games and podcasts, with advanced speech recognition helping you hone your pronunciation, but (after your free trial lesson) you'll need to sign in to an account with a paid plan to get started.
Can I get a refund for my Babbel plan?
Should you change your mind about Babbel, all plans are covered by the brand's 20-day money-back, letting you contact the support team before the money-back period is up to request a full refund. Note that plans purchased through the Apple App store are excluded from this guarantee, as the Apple Store operates its own separate refund policy.

Look for promotions
Babbel frequently offers discounts on selected plans at different points throughout the year, with up to 50% off individual and group plans, including 12-month and lifetime options and savings on gifting. Make sure to check in around major holidays like Black Friday and Christmas, the change of the seasons, and school term times for the best chances to save. Opt for a group plan
If you're not the only person you know looking to learn some languages, you can sign up for one of Babbel's group plans to lower the per-person cost of signing up for the service. Group plans are managed by one admin, and allow up to 5 additional users to sign in to the same account (meaning up to 6 total).
Group plans are available on a 3-month or 12-month basis outside of discounts, with the price working out at £24.95 a month. That means for two users, you'll effectively pay £12.47 a month per person - already less than the usual cost of a 12-month individual plan, which is £14.99.

Refer a friend
Know someone else looking to sign up to Babbel? You can refer them to service to net them an extra month free. Just sign in to your account and head to the referral page to generate a unique link, then send it to your friend. Once they've signed up for a plan using said link, an extra month will be added to their plan completely free, and you'll also receive an extra month free as thanks.
Get a student discount
Still studying and looking to save on your subscription? Babbel offers a number of student discounts on its plans, with 20% off lifetime plans, 50% of 12-month plans, and 25% of 6-month plans available when you verify with Student Beans. just sign in with a valid account before you head to the checkout to access these discounts.
How to use Babbel coupon codes
