Frazer Clarke vs Jeamie TKV is more than just a massive fight for the British heavyweight title at Vaillant Live Arena in Derby, UK. Bouts for the illustrious Lonsdale belt seldom fail to deliver and this clash between the Olympic bronze medallist and hard-hitting Congolese-Brit is no different – and it also marks the return of boxing to BBC linear TV for the first time in 20 years.
Clarke is now 34 and the Tokyo 2020 medallist needs to move quickly if he's to move beyond British level. Plenty thought Big Fraze was unlucky in the split draw with Fabio Wardley, but Clarke got pummeled in the rematch inside a round to the now WBO heavyweight champion. That remains Clarke's only professional defeat and a rebuild win against Ebenezer Tetteh has helped restore some confidence, but the Burton-on-Trent fighter will need to upgrade his output and work rate.
TKV has his eyes on bigger prizes beyond even the Lonsdale belt. The 32-year-old's family hail from DR Congo – formerly known as Zaire and the venue for the iconic Rumble in the Jungle between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman – and the Tottenham-born Brit fancies a fight back in Africa where his grandfather was a key figure in Mobutu Sese Seko's authoritarian regime in Zaire. First, he'll need to get past Clarke in his second successive fight for the British title after being outgunned last time out by David Adeleye in the sixth round.
The bout was originally scheduled for October 25, but TKV picked up a rib injury in training which pushed the fight back a month. Clarke says his opponent wanted to "buy more time", while TKV has questioned his rival's future in the sport should he get the win. Whatever happens, it's going to be a barnstormer.

Clarke vs TKV weigh-in results
There was a bit stare down between the pair at yesterday's weigh-in, with Clarke and TKV at one point having to be separated by security.
Clarke weighed in at 19st 4lb 2oz, while the naturally smaller TKV tipped the scales at 18st 12lb 9oz.
"Emotions are high," Clarke said. "We're ready to fight. I say what I say, more importantly do what I need to do. There's no respect for now. He's nothing to me, just an opponent."
TKV, meanwhile, is trying to get in his opponent's head and disrupt. "That is the game," he said. "The whole game is to rattle Frazer and mission accomplished. He's going to fight with emotions. He probably isn't going to follow the game plan, once he's rattled he won't be the same fighter in the ring."
