I just spotted the Sonos Era 300 at its lowest ever price – who needs Black Friday?

I'll come straight out with it: the excellent Sonos Era 300 is slashed from its RRP of £449 to just £404 with free delivery at a little-known retailer called Hills Sound and Vision

You can go ahead and check out our cheapest Sonos sales for October, or our early Sonos Black Friday deals if you like. But this just-in deal is extra desirable in several ways – one, there's free delivery, two, it's £4.99 cheaper than at the big smiling Bezos giant (where you'll find it currently reduced to £408.99, but if you can save the fiver, you should) and three, it's from a Brighton, Sussex firm that's rated 'excellent' on Trustpilot.

Sonos Era 300, lowest price ever – run for the Hills!

Sonos Era 300: was £449 now £404 at Hills Sound & Vision
At a full 10% off the RRP, this is the Era 300's lowest-seen price to date (don't be fooled by other retailers who may list bigger savings – but with a steeper RRP of £499. Naughty!) and it creates more space in your music than anything else we've heard for the same price or size. It gives you a real feeling of sounds being positioned with Dolby Atmos tracks, and even stereo gets more width than you'd think possible. Any downsides? If pushed, we'd love a little more bass extension, but it's still one of the most exciting speakers you can buy today – especially with this discount.

With savings this good today, who needs to wait around for those Black Friday deals? And make no mistake: this splendid Sonos speaker was released end of March 2023 and this is the lowest price we've ever seen on it.

This speaker is a stone-cold winner, gaining a class-leading 4.5 stars in our Sonos Era 300 review and – this just in – a coveted TR Award for best wireless speaker in our TechRadar Choice Awards for 2023, sponsored by Norton.

While the Sonos Era 300's regular £449 price is far from cheap (it's beyond even the Apple HomePod 2, which is similarly designed for Dolby Atmos thrills) it is actually cheaper than the Sonos Five, which is sticking around in Sonos' line-up as the more hi-fi-focused option – and it is much less expensive than the likes of the Naim Mu-so Qb 2nd Gen.

And, as TR's Managing Editor of Entertainment, Matt Bolton, wrote under intense review, "I gotta tell you, compared to what I describe in my Sonos Era 100 review, the Era 300 is really on a whole new level in terms of dispersing the sound, providing clarity and positioning of instruments, and delivering more detailed bass."

So, how to get all that Sonos sonic prowess while cutting the cost? Run for the Hills! The Hills are alive, with the sound of Sonos music…
