It's Monday. The beginning of the week can be seen everywhere from the drab weather outside to the continual yawning from those around you.
Luckily, as the following stories show, there's no such thing as a boring day in the world of tech news. So, sit back and relax, as our roundup is about to perk you up quicker than a hot, steaming cup of java.
First up was the announcement that to bring Britain into the 21st Century web-wise it could cost as much as £30 billion – which is not a number you want to hear in these cash-strapped times.
Let's just hope that someone manages to sort out our broadband speeds quick, though, as we don't want to miss an episode of the upcoming web-based comedy Hooking Up as watching a bunch of has-been internet stars try and re-ignite their fame will be, quite frankly, hilarious.
In gaming news, it's been a topsy turvy day for Sony. While the company must be gutted that it has lost SingStar boss Paulina Bozek to Atari, it must be over the moon to be recognised as Asia's favourite brand, usurping Nokia
Speaking of Nokia, it seem that the company's much-anticipated Tube phone has got itself an – unofficial – release date.
If we flip back to Sony, though, we at TechRadar aren't too convinced that releasing another Walkman media player is such a good idea, as Apple has seemingly got that bit of the market sewn up.
Not that Apple is paying attention; however, as it has had to deal with the little fact that it has not yet paid the man who had the idea for the iPod. Now the company has admitted Kane Kramer was the one that came up with the idea, surely he must be in the money soon.
If big TVs are your thing, then you might be interested in hearing that Mitsubishi's 65in LaserVue rear-projection TV has finally got a price. There's one problem: you will have to cough up a cool £3,500 if you want to own one.
If you wait long enough for the price of the TV to come down to 'affordable' levels, then you may well also be one of the first owners of an e-newspaper, as the technology is being readied by Plastic Logic.
And just when we thought the day's news was coming to an end, French company Musinaut has announced a new audio file format that lets you tinker with songs and give them numerous remixes. Sounds complicated? It is, but it makes for interesting reading.
As does our final story that announces that half of the world will have digital TV by 2013 – it's a big ask, as we're struggling enough to get the whole of the UK digital by 2012.
Anyway, we're off to the local igloo to see if Eskimo Paul has got any more fish in...not really, but thought a bit of international flavour might conclude this round-up (n)icely...
