It's no secret that the best VPNs are all dropping their prices right now. But, what you might not realize is that Black Friday VPN deals don't work like a typical monthly discount.

While some providers sound like amazing value since they've 'dropped' their price – to $2.99 per month in NordVPN's case – the real saving is far larger. That's because you to pay for the entire length of your subscription upfront.

The cheapest way to be protected forever

While some VPNs offer plans up to two years, FastestVPN is currently offering an exclusive, lifetime VPN deal for only $30!

Included with the VPN is 15 simultaneous connections, access to over 100 locations (with servers capable of up to 10 Gbps), split tunneling, malware protection, ad blocking, and optimized servers for streaming and P2P (with port forwarding options available too).

Often, deals this cheap are misleading, overpromising, or downright dangerous"

If you use this deal for five years, you're protecting yourself for less than 2 cents per day! By comparison, two years of NordVPN's cheapest Black Friday deal works out to about 10 cents per day. That's without NordVPN's advanced features like Threat Protection Pro, either.

Plus, you get two years of FastestPass password protection thrown in too.

While FastestVPN isn't quite as premium or capable as the likes of NordVPN or Proton, it's more than good enough for the price.

Often, deals this cheap are misleading, overpromising, or downright dangerous. Free and ultra-cheap providers can log and sell your data to cover their costs, effectively turning you into the product. They may use weak encryption or fail to offer vital security features like a kill switch. That's why the deals and products we highlight are strictly vetted. We ensure you are not at risk and are getting value for your money.

Not only does FastestVPN have an audited no-logs policy, it also uses AES-256 encryption, as you'd expect from any good VPN. We've also had our VPN Technical Editor, Mike Williams, test it in depth, and, while it's not breaking any new ground, it's more than enough for most people.

The most you need to spend

If you're willing to stretch your wallet a tad further for some additional quality, you don't need to spend much more at all. In fact, Surfshark is less than $25 more to begin with, though you do sacrifice the lifetime protection.

Surfshark is currently ranked as our best cheap VPN regularly achieves a top-three spot in our overall testing, and its WireGuard performance routinely makes it one of the fastest VPN we test.

At only $1.99/month, this Surfshark deal delivers a virtually unbeatable combination of quality, speed, and raw value.

Equating to around 7 cents per day over the 27 months included, Surfshark Basic is 3 cents per day cheaper than NordVPN, the only VPN we deem superior overall.

It still breezed our speed testing last time around, coming out on top, had no issues with any streaming services, and has some super-unique tricks up its sleeve thanks to its Nexus technology. So, a higher price doesn't necessarily guarantee better performance.

Alternative ID is worth digging into as well. The technology gives you a new name, age, address, email address, and even phone number (if you're in the US) that you can use to securely sign up for websites, newsletters, games, and so on, without putting your actual data at risk of a breach.

You can create and delete as many Alternative IDs as you want, so if one is compromised, you can make a new one, and everything you need is hosted in the app.

I spent a week using an Alternative ID, and it's a serious piece of security kit if you're worried about putting your information into websites. Plus, if you hadn't guessed, this is available on Surfshark's cheapest plan.

Also included in the Basic plan is ad and cookie pop-up blocking, unlimited simultaneous connections, and Dynamic Multihop, which uses Surfshark's Nexus network to allow you to set up a double VPN connection between literally any two servers you want within Surfshark's network.

It's among the fastest VPN's available, is great with streaming services, has simple apps for any platform, and works flawlessly in internet-restricted regions too. Try it risk-free with its 30-day money-back guarantee or 7-day free trial.
