Don't wait for Black Friday – I've found 16 Prime Day deals that are half price or better

Securing some fresh tech with a discount is something I think we can all agree is a good thing. What's even more rewarding is when the discount is at least 50%, and in some cases even more.
If you just said to yourself "you're so right", then you'll be pleased to know the current Prime Day sale in Australia is simply littered with deals that are half price or better, and I've listed some of my favourites below.
From headphones to toothbrushes, air fryers to air purifiers, virtually any product category you can think of has joined the 50%-plus club – and below are my top picks. I should mention, however, that most of the offers are Prime exclusive, so you can sign up now and score a 30-day free trial that you can cancel any time.

You can always find Oral-B's fabulous iO series brushes discounted on Amazon and this one is one of the more affordable options, made more so by the fantastic 62% price cut. This version uses the same powerful motor as the iO 7 (see below), but misses out on some of the extra cleaning modes, AI smarts and display. If you're just focused on good oral care, however, it's a fine option.
I bought this Dreame hair dryer during the last Prime Day sale, and it's not steered me wrong once. A much more affordable alternative to a Dyson, it features a mighty fast 110,000 RPM motor for fast airflow and quick drying, plus built-in ion technology results in smooth, shiny hair. Not to mention, the slim, lightweight build make it comfortable to hold.
We've not reviewed this exact blender model from Ninja, but we have tested its predecessor, the BN495, which earned a 4.5-star review. This newer model has more power, a larger capacity jug, and Auto-IQ technology that can automatically determine how long the blender needs to run, and what method it uses to pulverise what's inside. It also scores a healthy 53% discount.
The Vertuo Pop is perhaps the most fuss-free Nespresso machine I've ever used. Pop a pod in (there are numerous to choose from), press a button and you're done. The deal price here is just for the Mango Yellow model, so if you'd rather a different colour, I've found some alternatives at other stores that also receive hefty discounts.
• Spicy Red with Aeroccino 3: AU$149 at Amazon
• Coconut White: AU$98 at The Good Guys
• Pistachio bundle pack (pictured): AU$199 at The Good Guys
Admittedly, spot cleaners aren't quite in TechRadar's remit, but since they're a close relative to vacuums, I felt compelled to include this model from Shark. With several five-star reviews and the fact we know and trust Shark as a brand, this will be a great option for anyone wanting to clean spot stains on upholstery or rugs.
I've been eyeing up an air purifier recently, although I'll need a large, expensive one to clear my living space. This model from Philips is ideal for smaller rooms, however, and is better than half price. Make sure to look at the CADR figure when searching for purifiers – 300 m³/h in this case – meaning it's best suited to rooms up to 30 m².
We've tested the 5000 Series Philips air fryer with steam, but not this dual-basket option, and yet I'd be comfortable in recommending this if you don't want to spend too much money on features you don't need. This 9L air fryer has drawers of different sizes (compared to the single-drawer model – see below), which makes it easy to cook a main and a side together, and promises to sync cooking times if needed.
Electric toothbrushes are usually ripe for a steep discount during sales events like Prime Day and this 63% saving on the iO 7 is further proof. It's uses AI to recognise your brushing style and provide feedback to improve it (if it needs improving, of course). Feedback is sent to a companion app, but the brush also has a built-in pressure sensor and an interactive display.
It's been our favourite budget stick vacuum recommendation for some time for a reason (but we then tried the Dreame U20 which goes for even cheaper when discounted) – this cordless Shark offers powerful suction and a self-cleaning brush roll. Plus, the nozzle has LED lights that'll reveal any hidden dust and debris as you vacuum. We've seen it go low in price before, but this is the cheapest it's ever been.
These popular Bose headphones started Prime Week with a 30% discount, yet that's now increased to a huge 53%. The 'SC' on the name of this pair indicates they come with a soft case, but the headphones themselves are identical to the 'regular' QuietComfort, meaning great sound, comfort and noise-cancellation.
Speaking of, the regular QuietComfort Headphones are available with a 48% discount in white or blue, or 46% off in sandstone.
An extra AU$25 saving at the checkout takes the overall discount to 53% on the superb Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones, earning them a spot on my list. I use these myself when I'm at my desk, and they stay on for hours on end. They deliver a rich, detailed sound, backed up by effective ANC. The deal price here is close to all-time low, too.
We've enjoyed using other Philips air fryer models, so we're confident in recommending this 7000 Series. It has a large 8.3L cooking basket, and also features a built-in food thermometer, so you can be extra sure meats are correctly cooked and safe to eat. Plus, the standalone model without the thermometer is currently AU$46 more expensive.
A smidge off my 50% benchmark, this discount is equal to the lowest we have seen on Amazon – which is why I'm compelled to add it to my list. While it's now been superseded by a new model, the first-gen Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is still one of the finest Android watches you can buy. In our Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra review, we praised the gadget for its battery life, display, superb fitness features and its awesome programmable quick button.
This compact, portable projector scored 4.5 stars in our Nebula Capsule 3 review, and thanks to this huge 54% discount, it's even easier to recommend to anyone wanting a more cinema-like movie-viewing experience in the comfort of their home. It's not without its quirks, which you can read in the review, but overall this is one of the better portable projectors you can buy.
You can currently score a massive saving on this talented robot vacuum, thanks to an initial 60% discount, plus an extra 12% off the sale price at checkout. It offers powerful suction, smart mopping features, anti-tangle technology, and a self-cleaning auto-empty station.
It's still an investment, yes, but if you have a large home and you want to ensure total network coverage, this Netgear mesh system is ideal. It supports Wi-Fi 6E, so is perfect to use with the best NBN 500 plans, and supports up to 200 devices.
