Man City travel to Villarreal this Tuesday night looking to bounce back from a disappointing draw with Monaco in the previous round of fixtures. Since an early-season blip against Tottenham and Brighton, Pep Guardiola’s side have looked closer to their best. They are currently in the midst of a nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions, with a win against Napoli and a draw with Monaco marking their opening results in the UCL.

Erling Haaland, as ever, is their danger man, with 14 goals already in the 2025/26 season. Elsewhere, Phil Foden is slowly rediscovering his 2023/24 form, while Jérémy Doku is beginning to deliver in the final third.

Over at Villarreal, their start to the season has been rather promising. While it's always difficult to keep pace with Real Madrid and Barcelona, they’ve still managed 17 points from their opening nine fixtures. In Europe, they began their campaign with a narrow defeat to Spurs before netting a late equaliser to snatch a point against Juventus earlier this month. With former Premier League players like Nicolas Pépé, Juan Foyth, and Thomas Partey in the squad, the Cityzens will need to be wary of their opponents.
