Apple is reducing all basic iCloud accounts to 5GB at the end of the week, ending a promotion for former MobileMe users.
Apple hung out the "we're closed" sign on MobileMe, although existing users can still access some of their data...for now.
Apple is looking to close the door on MobileMe by offering a free Mac OS X upgrade to ease the transition to iCloud.
Poor old MobileMe. It tried hard, but never quite delivered. Apple knew this as well as anyone, which is why it chose to preserve those parts, jettisoning the web publishing, photo gallery and iDisk, as it set about building iCloud.
Apple seems to have a location-based tool called Find My Friends in the works for its iOS 4.3 iPhone and iPad update.
