LCD TV rivals Sony and Sharp have formed a joint venture company, called Sharp Display Products Corporation, which will produce large LCD panels at Sharp's upcoming Sakai City manufacturing facility.
The partnership opens for business on April 1; Sharp will have a 66 per cent stake in the company, Sony 34 per cent. Sharp veteran Hiroshi Saji has been named president.
