Welcome to the tech.co.uk 'beta' site. What you see here is thebeginnings of a new technology portal, which will boast the latest news, reviews, features, blogs, buyer's guides and forums.

This is a new venture for us and this beta version of the site hasn't got all of our components switched on. In many ways, this is a public evaluation phase, which will allow us to see how tech.co.uk works, where the kinks are and what extra functionality we can add to make the site even better.

If you have any suggestions for our site or spot any bugs, then you can email us at techbugs@futurenet.co.uk .

As you can see, we've now got our blog platform up-and-running and, during the rest of January we'll be expanding our news and reviews coverage. Most of the team, myself included, are currently out in Las Vegas at the Consumer Electronics Show and we'll be posting like crazy over the next few days.

Similarly, we have a massive catalogue of product reviews to add to the site during January, over 5,000 to be exact. These include the latest high-definition TVs, DVD players, PCs, laptops, all manner of PC and Mac periperals, MP3 players, mobile phones and more.

And alongside these new reviews we'll be adding an array of buyer's guides, designed to give you an instant insight into the major product categories, whether you're looking to buy a new printer or a CD player for the kitchen.

After that, we've got new forums coming, a range of daily and weekly newsletters, plus some of the best competitions that we could lay our hands on.

Magazine power

Best of all, perhaps, during January and February we'll be incorporating Future's leading technology magazines into tech.co.uk, including: PC Format , Mac Format , PC Plus , Digital Home , Home Cinema Choice , Hi-Fi Choice , What Laptop and Total Mobile .

This will expand our news and blog coverage even further, giving you an unparalleled view across the computing and consumer electronics industries.

That's sums up tech.co.uk. Keep coming back during January as we switch on the rest of our components and, as I said above, we welcome your comments. Either mail them to me directly ( dean.evans@futurenet.co.uk ) or leave your comments at the bottom of this post (registration required).
