Things got off to a high-energy start this morning, when TechRadar had breakfast with 7digital who announced that it is the first site in the UK to have all four major music labels' music in MP3 format.

This was followed up quite nicely with the announcement that UK cars may be fitted with speed limiters – expect Top Gear to do a feature on this ASAP.

In gaming news, price cuts for the Xbox 360 were made official and pictures of a new motion controller for the Xbox and PS3 were released by In2Games.

It wasn't just game accessory companies releasing information about new products, however; Google showed off its final Android handset and HP revealed a whole host of new mice.

Speaking of HP, the company had an extremely busy day as it also unveiled not one but eight new notebooks – ranging from the fashion centric to the high-end. It also unveiled its IQ800 series of TouchSmart PCs.

In mobile news, HTC revealed its Android handset, the first in the UK with Google's OS, and its Ice White Touch Diamond.

From the small screen of a trusty phone to the super big screen of Ultra HD TV, our man has seen it and he loves what he's seen.

And in the most tenuous link ever, we leap from Olympic-sized TVs to the, er, Olympics – as the guy who will sort out the IT for the Olympic games has been announced and he's coming straight from managing the Co-Op. No expense spared there then.

Both Apple and BT Vision have announced new digital download schemes today, with iTunes finally linking up with HBO to offer shows like The Sopranos and BT Vision unveiling its hi-def rental service. Which sounds great, apart from the fact that it takes around eight hours to download an HD film. Somehow, the local video shop has just got a lot more appealing…
