So, what are you waiting for? Read to learn more one of the best streaming services' various price points, what features each tier comes packaged with, how Disney+ compares to its rivals from a cost standpoint, and so much more!

Disney+ price: the basics

After its initial launch in the US almost seven years ago, the price of Disney+ has only in one direction: up.

As of July 2026, those in the US have to spend $11.99 per month for its ad-supported plan and $15.99 every 30 days for the ad-free tier. You're looking at $189.99 for an annual subscription for the latter experience, too.

In the UK, an ad-based subscription costs £5.99 a month, the standard ad-free tier is £9.99 per month, and the ad-free premium plan will set you back £14.99 per month. Annually, the ad-free tiers are £99.90 and £149.90 respectively.

As for the rest of the world, here's how much a monthly subscription to Disney+'s ad-supported tier will set you back:

Disney+ deals: are there any available?

Not in the traditional sense. There is a way to save money, but you'll have take advantage of the Disney+ password sharing crackdown to do so.

Don't know what that is? Let me explain: in 2024, Disney began cracking down on account sharing. Essentially, that means you can no longer access the account of anyone who lives in a separate household to you, and vice versa. Family members and/or friends who wish to continue using your account — or, again, vice versa — needed to be added to an existing subscription as an Extra Member.

You can't do that for free, either. In the US, an additional $6.99 (with ads) and $9.99 (without ads) per month is needed to add a Extra Member to someone's account. Meanwhile, those in the UK need to fork out £4.99 for the ad-supported tier, or £5.99 every 30 days for the ad-free offerings.

Okay, but how can this save you some money? if you split the cost of a monthly subscription between everyone who wants to use the same account, you'll not only share the financial burden, but also keep some cash in your back pocket. Instead of paying $9.99 a month for the ad-free tier, then, two of you can spend just $4.98 every 30 days simply by adding the other person to one of your existing accounts. Simple!

Not sure whether you should pick Disney+ over its streaming rivals? I don't blame you. Without signing up — or, if one is available, making use of a free trial — to a specific platform to see what new movies and TV shows they offer, you might have choice paralysis ahead of making the big decision.

That's where I come in. Below, I've rounded up each platform's cheapest ad-free tier and their price points, so you can compare them and make a more informed decision on which one you should go for, especially if funds are tight.

Is Disney+ worth the price?

In short: yes, but only just. Disney+ isn't cheap on the ad-free subscription front but, if you can stomach adverts and are working to a budget, its ad-supported plan is a great alternative.

As one of the oldest studios around, Disney has built up an extensive — and mostly excellent — back catalog of films and shows.

Animation-wise, there are lots of classic animated Disney movies and Pixar delights to enjoy. Disney+ is also home to numerous big franchises, including Star Wars and Marvel, its own original movies and TV shows, and flora-, fauna-, and location-based documentaries by way of National Geographic. It even features adult-oriented content via the recently integrated Hulu app (outside of the US), too, so it's not the completely kid-friendly streamer that many people make it out to be.

Disney+ doesn't license content from its competitors, so you won't be able to stream originals from the likes of Netflix and Prime Video. Frankly, though, it doesn't need to. There's over a century's worth of content to enjoy on the service, so a Disney+ subscription is definitely worth considering.

And, hey, if you're not fussed on what's new on the platform for any given month, you can cancel your Disney+ subscription and reopen your account when there's something that piques your interest.

Disney Plus price: FAQs

Where is Disney+ available? And can you try before you buy? (Image credit: Shutterstock)

Which countries is Disney+ available in?

Since its November 2019 launch in the US, Disney+ has been rolled out in 106 nations. Those include — but aren't limited to — Australia, New Zealand, the UK, numerous European countries, Japan, and nations in Latin America.

Is a Disney+ free trial currently available?

A seven-day free trial was introduced when Disney+ was originally released, but one hasn't been available since late 2021.

If you're in the market for a new phone contract, there may be a way to try it for free if you can find a deal with Disney+ included as part of a bundle. Alternatively, you can look at third-party websites to see if they've got a deal running. For more information, check out our Disney+ free trial guide.

Failing all of that, you can shift the cost onto a loved one and ask for a Disney+ gift card for your birthday, Christmas, or another special occasion. Hey, it's technically free if you didn't pay for it!
