Surfshark One: $2.69 $2.19/month + 3 months free
Surfshark One isn't the cheapest plan, but it's definitely the best deal. We think Surfshark is comfortably the 2nd best VPN and the best cheap VPN. Surfshark One is the sweet spot for value. Here's what you get in addition to all the basics included in the Starter plan:
❌ Full antivirus built in
🤐 Privacy-first web search
📬 Email, ID and credit card fraud alerts
On top of that, you still get an excellent VPN product and Alternative ID too.

ExpressVPN: $2.44/month (was $3.49) + 4 months extra
ExpressVPN is currently cheaper than it's ever been and its Basic plan is one of the best deals around. It's a little cheaper than NordVPN but does lack some of Nord's advanced features. With the basic plan, you get:
✅ Great value for money
✅ One of the best VPNs on the market
✅ Strong encryption
❌ Fewer advanced features
Compared to the likes of NordVPN and Surfshark, it lacks some advanced features but it's a quality VPN that's been near the top of our rankings for years. It's never been this cheap, either, so it's definitely worth checking out.

PrivadoVPN: $1.11/month with 90% off
PrivadoVPN dropped its price to $1.11/month during last year's Black Friday sales and hasn't returned since. This year, they're offering TechRadar's readers an exclusive deal that includes free access to the antivirus product. That means you get 27 months of VPN and antivirus protection for $30.
We rate PrivadoVPN Free as the best free VPN but here are the advantages that paid users get:
🌐 Choose from over 67 server locations
♾️ Unlimited data use
🤳 Connect from 10 devices at the same time
Like all good VPNs, PrivadoVPN customers get a 30-day money back guarantee.

CyberGhost: $2.19 $2.03 per month + 4 months extra
CyberGhost has been a fixture in the VPN industry for years, and this Black Friday deal makes their massive network and dedicated streaming tools highly tempting. This is an excellent choice for anyone who streams frequently or wants a reliable service that just works. A subscription with CyberGhost includes access to:
👻 A veteran of the VPN world
🚀 950+ Mbs speeds

Windscribe: $69 now $29/year
This is a solid Black Friday deal that offers some serious savings compared to its standard price. The highlight is the price lock guarantee, which means you can lock in a low rate for years to come. If you're currently on a higher price subscription, it's worth cancelling and signing back up at the discounted price.

✅ Legitimately fast VPN speeds

Hotspot Shield 1-year plan: $7.99 $3.99/month – save 50%
Hotspot Shield is offering 50% off its 12-month price plan until December 1, 2025. That takes the total price down from $95.99 to $47.99, and that's pretty compelling. All the same, you can get that $3.99 per month down to $2.99 per month if you're happy to sign up for three years. Do bear in mind, though, that that's a total outlay of $107.64. There are better VPNs on this page than Hotspot but, if this is a product you already use, it's a good moment to stack up more time. Here's what we like and don't like about Hotspot Shield:
✅ Unblocks US Netflix, iPlayer, Prime Video, Disney Plus
✅ 45-day money-back guarantee
✅ Good P2P support
❌ Struggles to unblock Australian streaming services
❌ A little more logging than we'd like
❌ Imperfect Windows kill switch

PureVPN: $2.16 $1.49/month + 3 months extra
PureVPN isn't our favorite VPN in the world and in our most recent round of testing, we found that it's actually getting worse in terms of speed and server locations. It does offer a standard set of features, though, and is a good choice if you're looking to host a web server or access a residential IP address. With this Black Friday deal, you'll get 5 years worth of protection for under $100 at $1.49 a month, down from $2.16. Surfshark is a better option and with similar features, but if your heart's set on PureVPN, then this is the best time to buy.
✅ Strong content unblocking
💻 Dedicated IP address (extra fee)
❌ Average connection speeds
❌ Inconsistent performance
PureVPN is also offering discounts on its Plus and Max plans which offer additional features like password managers and data removal tools.
Editor's Choice

My favorite Black Friday VPN deal this year is definitely from Proton. While a lot of companies offer a secure and reliable product, trusting the people that run the VPN is really important to me.
I need to know the company genuinely cares about people's right to privacy and the team behind Proton VPN doesn't just say they care – they've built their entire business around it with audited and open-source applications.
For anyone relatively new to the world of VPNs, I'd recommend the Proton VPN Plus plan. It's a great starting point and offers everything you need to effectively secure your internet browsing traffic. It's also now less than $3 a month.
But if you're like me and want to secure more of your digital footprint – think email, cloud, and passwords – you should check out the Proton Unlimited bundle. It’s more money, but I'd say it's definitely worth it.

Is now the right time to buy a Black Friday VPN deal?
The deals we've included here for NordVPN, Surfshark, ExpressVPN and Proton are unlikely to change over the next couple of days, so if you're thinking about buying one of them, now is definitely the right time. In fact, many of the deals here will expire in the next day or so.
We're sure to see some other VPN deals popping up over Black Friday but as most of the best apps are already on sale, there's little reason to hold out.

How we choose Black Friday VPN deals
There are hundreds of VPNs on the market. We only include services on this list that we would genuinely recommend to family and friends.
We've been testing VPNs on TechRadar for over 11 years. The editorial team members use them every day on the phones and laptops, and the lab team puts them through their paces every month.
A Black Friday VPN deal is only included on this pages if it meets all of the following criteria:
- It's a VPN we have actually tested: We wouldn't recommend something we've never had our hands on.
- It's a reliable service: you can trust it to keep you and your loved ones safe online.
- It's a price we would genuinely pay for it: if we don't think the price being asked is worthy of the service, then it's not going on our list. If we wouldn't pay for it, why should you?

Do I need a VPN?
No, but there are many scenarios where a VPN can be useful both for online security and browsing convenience. If you're at home or abroad, a VPN can be a useful tool to ensure you're in the most secure situation possible.
Let's say you connect to the public WiFi in your local cafe. You're browsing the internet, doing some online banking, or buying something in the Black Friday sales. That's fine, except you might not be the only person viewing that information. Public WiFi can be compromised or set up by someone wanting to steal your personal information.
Without a VPN, your internet traffic is open and can be seen by hackers. With a VPN, your data is encrypted, so even if you've connected to a fake WiFi hotspot, the hacker will have no clue what your doing online.
A VPN can also help with streaming your favorite TV series, shows, or sports matches when traveling abroad.
The likes of Netflix, BBC iPlayer, HBO, and similar offer different libraries according to what country you're in. A VPN can help you access censored content and other geo-restricted material, that's especially important if you're visiting countries with high levels of censorship.
If you are a gamer, a VPN can mitigate the effects of DDoS attacks while preventing your ISP from deliberately slowing down traffic from gaming servers.
No matter your online habits, a VPN can be a useful addition to your toolbox but it's not an absolute necessity for everyone.
