The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 range has everyone talking about mobile privacy features. However, if you're not ready to upgrade your hardware, you can achieve a similar effect by buying your own screen protector and adding a VPN.
NordVPN's Plus plan — which includes a VPN, password manager and ad blocker — is currently offering a $20 Amazon gift card when you sign up as part of its 14th Birthday promotion.
By using the gift card to cover the cost of a third-party screen filter, you can replicate the S26 Ultra’s shoulder-surfing protection while securing your digital data with a full suite of privacy tools, all without forking out for a brand-new handset.
I put NordVPN through another round of testing only a few months ago. It remains the best VPN we've tested, and, while Surfshark and Norton VPN offer cheaper solutions, you won't find a VPN that performs better with streaming services or while gaming.
However, if you're a serial downloader or torrenter, it's probably worth considering Surfshark or Proton VPN. Both offer faster download speeds, and Proton VPN offers both P2P support and port-forwarding support.
NordVPN Plus: Get a $20 Amazon gift card when you sign up for a two-year plan
Wary of picking up a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra but love the idea of a private screen? A NordVPN Plus plan gives you all the tools to keep any phone secure, plus a $20 Amazon gift card to pick up your own screen protection. In the plan, you get:
🔗 The best VPN I've tested this year
🔑 Password management
🦠 Ad, tracker, and malware blocking
✉️ Dark web email monitoring
👤 Data breach scanning
If you're unsure, NordVPN also comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. This means if you're unhappy after a month of use, you get your money back.
All of NordVPN's plans, aside from the Basic plan, have Amazon gift vouchers available at the moment — for up to $50. That said, the best value comes from a Plus plan. Paid as $93.36 upfront for two years of protection, the plan gives you all of the best of NordVPN without overspending.
Arguably, the only feature it would be good to see included in future iterations would be NordVPN's new scam call protection feature. Currently, it's only available on more premium plans, which can result in quite the price jump depending on your region.
As with all NordVPN plans, we'd also recommend turning off auto-renewals once you're signed up. While it's a great VPN, the auto-renewal prices are much higher than what you'll pay originally, so turn auto-renewal off to avoid the unwelcome shock.
