The House of the Spirits is the first Spanish-language television adaptation of Isabel Allende's acclaimed book. It arrives as an eight-episode limited series that spans 50 years and follows three generations of women — Clara, Blanca, and Alba — in a conservative South American country.

Prime Video's new series is filmed, as well as set, in Chile and leans into the novel's blend of family drama, political upheaval and magical realism, with the story anchored by the Trueba family saga that spans half a century.
Alfonso Herrera leads the cast as Esteban Trueba, alongside Nicole Wallace and Dolores Fonzi as younger and older versions of Clara, with Fernanda Urrejola and Rochi Hernández also featuring in major roles.
There is plenty of weight behind the production, too. The novel author Allende and Eva Longoria are among the executive producers, and Prime Video has already confirmed a global rollout. That's more than 240 countries.
