The best cheap tablets are affordable alternatives to the latest flagship models from the likes of Apple and Samsung. And, right now, you can get 35% off Amazon's best budget-friendly tablet as the Amazon Fire HD 8 is down to $64.99 (was $99.99).
This is a return to the lowest price this year and the first time we've seen it discounted in months. You might have to wait until the next Prime Day to get it for any cheaper than this, so it's a good time to buy if you can't hold off until October, which is likely when the next members-only sales event will run.
As for the tablet itself, the Amazon Fire HD 8 boasts an eight-inch HD screen, which is more than enough for browsing the web or watching a movie. It also has an all-day battery life, which means you can take it with you without needing a charger. Get all this and more for under $65.
Today's best Amazon Fire tablet deal
This tablet might be friendly on your wallet, but the specs are still pretty impressive if you want a basic and budget slate. We love the eight-inch HD screen, 32GB of storage, and the surprisingly good camera. If you're looking for a tablet to use at home or on the go for web browsing, streaming and a bit of light admin, then this price represents unbelievably good value.
The Amazon Fire HD 8 won't feature in our guide to the best tablets, but that doesn't mean it's not worth having. If you don't want to part with much cash but would like a portable device that is bigger than your phone for basic everyday jobs and light entertainment needs, then the Fire HD 8 is a fantastic shout.
Aside from the impressive eight-inch screen, you'll also get some neat AI-powered features such as Writing Assist and Wallpaper Creator. If you’re looking for some downtime, there are plenty of apps and games to access via the Amazon Appstore, although there’s no Google Play support like with other Android-based tablets.
We've not actually reviewed this 2024 release, but you can read up on its specs over at our Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet page.
If money is tight, then we recommend checking out our best cheap tablets guide. Alternatively, there are plenty of other Amazon Fire tablet deals and iPad deals around at the moment.
