The best Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro plans in Australia for June 2026

Google’s current crop of main-line Pixel devices have been released for almost a year now, but they continue to be popular with customers, at least if sales numbers are anything to go by. In fact, Pixel 10 Pro still remains our most recommended phone here at TechRadar, despite facing some stiff competition.

Even with the Pixel lineup due for a refresh in a few months and the launch of Android 17 last month and the Pixel Drop update in March, there's still something fresh that you can expect with the Pixel 10 lineup.

Even with strong sales figures, Google has continued its tradition of handing out generous discounts on its Pixel phones throughout the year, making them a popular choice for bargain hunters. Vodafone and Optus currently have the Pixel 10 Pro XL discounted as part of their EOFY sale, with more information below.

Still, given the base model Pixel 10 can also confidently be classed as a premium phone, getting a phone plan from the major telcos remains a popular way to buy these handsets – paying a smaller amount over 24 months, making it easier on most people's bank accounts.

Vodafone isn't stocking the Google Pixel 10 (only currently offering the 10 Pro XL), so Optus is your best bet for getting the base Pixel on a phone plan. Optus is discounting the plan to AU$45p/m for the first 12 months of any new service before reverting back to AU$60p/m. The Optus Plus Promo plan includes unlimited national calls and texts, while daily roaming also nets 5GB for AU$5 per day.

The best premium Pixel 10 plan

This plan provides all the benefits of the plan above, but with much more monthly data of 360GB for AU$69p/m for the first 12 months, and then AU$79p/m afterwards. The key difference here is that you also get unlimited international calls and texts to 35 destinations, making this the better option if you need global communication.

The best Pixel 10 Pro XL plan

As one of only two Google Pixel phones available through Vodafone, this plan is cheaper than Optus' offering. Despite both telcos discounting the handset by AU$800 off, Vodafone just beats Optus, thanks to an additional AU$14p/m discount on plan fees. In our review, the reviewer said that we wouldn't give the Pixel 10 Pro XL up “for all the iPhones in the world". You won’t get international calls and texts with this plan, but you can get roaming in eligible countries for just AU$5 per day.

What's new with the Google Pixel 10?

Four new phones are part of this lineup, including the standard Google Pixel 10, the Google Pixel 10 Pro and larger Pro XL, and Google's premium foldable, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. What are the new worthwhile features and how do they compare? Here's a quick breakdown.

Let's start with the Tensor G5 chipset that powers the entire range of new Pixel 10 phones. This is a direct upgrade to the previous G4 chip, boasting a 34% faster CPU and a 60% more powerful TPU. That means faster overall performance, a more efficient battery and speedier processing – especially when it comes to AI features.

Google phones have always been good for photos, too, and that theme continues with the Pixel 10 range. There's a dedicated telephoto camera, which is best on the Pixel 10 Pro or Pixel 10 Pro XL with its 48MP telephoto sensor that offers up to 100x digital zoom.

You also get a Camera Coach feature, which uses AI to offer suggestions for shot composition and shooting modes to help you take better photos. For snaps you've already taken, there's the Edit with Ask Photos feature, which will suggest tweaks to the lighting, sharpness and more to refine your pics further.

One of the most exciting features, though, is Pixelsnap: a built-in, magnetic Qi2 wireless charging technology for the entire Pixel 10 line. This works similarly to Apple's MagSafe technology, allowing magnetic wireless charging of up to 15W on the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and up to 25W on the Pixel 10 Pro XL. It's a convenient addition, so you no longer need magnetic rings or bulky magnetic cases.
