Arsenal vs Everton: match preview

Arsenal host Everton tonight hoping to avoid a repeat of the result at Goodison Park at the start of February, when James Tarkowski earned the Toffees a surprise win with his second-half header.

That defeat started a run of three games without a victory for Arsenal, but Mikel Arteta's side have responded well, winning back-to-back away games against Aston Villa and Leicester. The Gunners controlled the tie at the King Power on Saturday, but they weren't able to take the lead until the start of the second half, when Gabriel Martinelli collected a pass from Leandro Trossard and slotted past Danny Ward in the Leicester goal. It turned out to be the only goal of the game, and with Manchester City's win later that day, maintains Arsenal's two-point lead at the top of the table. Can they open up the gap with a win here at the Emirates?

Arteta has named an unchanged side for the game tonight, with Trossard preferred to Eddie Nketiah in the front three. Thomas Partey, who is so important to the Arsenal midfield, is only fit enough for the bench.

After two wins from his first three games, Sean Dyche has given Everton fans hope that their future may not be down in the Championship, but the blue side of Liverpool was brought back down to earth by defeat at the hands of Aston Villa at the weekend. A lack of cutting edge cost the Toffees yet again, with Neal Maupay continuing his barren run in front of goal, while Alex Iwobi saw a close-range shot deflected into the grateful arms of Emi Martinez. With West Ham and Leeds both winning, Everton now find themselves back in the bottom three, but doing the double over Arsenal tonight would give them some much-needed breathing space of their own.

Dyche has made just one change to his side, with Michael Keane coming in for Conor Coady at the back. The experienced Seamus Coleman captains the side.

Both teams will be desperate to take the three points, so follow our guide to get an Arsenal vs Everton live stream and watch the Premier League online from anywhere.
