Watch Newcastle vs Barcelona live streams, as Eddie Howe's Magpies play a Champions League knockout fixture for the first time in their history. Newcastle's reward for a maiden Round of 16 appearance is an incredibly tough fixture against Spanish champions, and La Liga leaders, Barcelona.

The two sides met during the league phase of this year’s competition, with Marcus Rashford scoring twice to secure a come-from-behind 2-1 victory for Barça at St. James’ Park. Hansi Flick’s side scored 22 goals en route to securing direct progress to the last 16, but also conceded plenty, with their high line ripped apart by Chelsea.

Los Culés have tightened up in recent months, though, with their 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao at the weekend delivering an eighth clean sheet across all competitions in 2026. Lamine Yamal is also in scintillating form.

Newcastle, meanwhile, will target another fast start. In their playoff tie against Qarabag, the scintillating Magpies flew into a 5-0 half-time lead in the 1st leg. Anthony Gordon hit four of those and trails only Kylian Mbappe in the Champions League Golden Boot standings. He’ll need to produce another clinical display, and the Geordies a febrile atmosphere, for Newcastle to have any hope of progressing to the quarterfinals ahead of the 2nd leg at the Camp Nou next week.
