Black Friday Nespresso deals

That's it for another, Black Friday has finished, but the deals certainly aren't over.  There's still an impressive array of substantial discounts on both sides of the Atlantic.  The majority of the reductions are being offered by Amazon, but there's still a smattering of savings from retailers looking to undercut the retail giant.

Some of the offers still running include the Nespresso Vertuo Next by Breville, which in the US is down to $127.46, while in the UK, you can nab the Vertuo Plusby Magimix for £59, which is around £10 cheaper than the price we saw on Black Friday.

If you missed out on a discount on the model you had your eye on, don't despair. There will be a new crop of reductions dropping very soon as part of the Cyber Monday deals. If you can't find the exact model you're after, then check out the best Cyber Monday coffee machine deals round-up to see a range of savings on models from a host of other brands.

Black Friday Nespresso deals: our predictions

Black Friday Nespresso deals usually cover both the brand’s original range of coffee makers, as well as its newer Vertuo lineup, including the Vertuo Next as well as the VertuoPlus, and the Vertuo. The Original range, with models such as the Nespresso Pixie, Nespresso Gran Lattissima, and the Nespresso Creatista, uses the iconic compact capsules that are slim but tall and can brew three different sizes of drink.

However, the Vertuo models can make five different-sized coffee drinks, and take wider, shorter capsules. These Vertuo capsules have a barcode on the side of the capsule, which the coffee maker uses to adjust the brewing parameters to create the perfect drink, whatever size you opt for.

While some of the models in the Original range have a built-in steam wand for texturizing milk, none of the Vertuo designs offer this. Instead, you’ll need to invest in an aeroccino - the brand’s stand-alone milk frother - if you want to make long coffee-based drinks such as lattes and cappuccinos.

The good news is we’ve previously seen models from both Nespresso’s ranges discounted, along with the Aeroccino3 and Nespresso capsules as well, so we’d expect much of the same again this year.

When will the best Black Friday Nespresso deals finish in 2021?

While Black Friday officially took place on November 26 this year, we saw deals dropping as early as late October and through early November. However, while the most popular holiday sales even may now have finished, there are still plenty of deals still running.

And they won't peter out either, as Cyber Monday will be taking place on November 29, and will start to see early deals appearing over the next few days, with the biggest crop of discounts dropping on the day itself.

What Black Friday Nespresso deals do we expect to see in 2021?

Last year we saw some Nespresso machines discounted by as much as 50% over Black Friday and the rest of the holiday shopping period. This included its new Vertuo line of coffee makers that use wider, short capsules, as well as its Original range that uses the taller coffee pods.

It's worth noting that while the Vertuo Next was only a few months old last year, the price was still reduced. However, the best saving came around a month before Black Friday in late October, so it really pays to keep an eye on prices as early as possible before the big day. We expect to see similar savings of the model this year, if not more, as its slightly older and Nespresso has yet to launch a new model.

Last year's best Black Friday Nespresso deals

Looking at last year’s best prices during the holiday sales period is one of the best ways to predict what Black Friday Nespresso deals we might see this year. As we’ve already mentioned, even though the Nespresso Vertuo Next was only a few months old, there was some savings to be had and it dropped to $104 / £74. However, it was a month before in the US we saw it reduced to its lowest ever price of $99. We hope to see similar, if not better savings, this year.

There were also savings to be had from on some of the Original Nespresso line, which use the taller capsules. This included a $150 / £70 saving on the Nespresso Creatista. You may prefer investing in one of these single-service machines, as compatible pods are available through a range of different high street stores, which can help you keep the price of using a coffee maker down.

Nespresso Vertuo Next: $192.95 $99.99 at Amazon
The Vertuo Next was only a few months old when Black Friday rolled around last year and Amazon dropped the price by around $70. However, we saw the best discount slightly before Black Friday in late October last year, when the single-serve coffee machine dropped to $99 for just one day, proving you really should start checking for Black Friday deals sooner rather than later.

Image

Nespresso VertuoPlus: $180 $104 at Amazon
The Nespresso VertuoPlus also saw a heft saving of almost 50% last year. The brand's top-of-the-range coffee maker that takes the larger Vertuo capsules, it has a 1.9-quart water tank, compared to the 1.1-quart capacity of the Vertuo Next. The water tank can also be repositioned, making it easier to fit on your kitchen countertop.

There was over a third off this single-serve Nespresso coffee machine that takes the original capsules too. With a built-in steam wand, it's ideal for anyone looking to make espresso-based drinks such as a latte or ca[puccino.

UK: Best Nespresso Black Friday deals last year

Image

Nespresso Vertuo Next: £149.99 £74 at John Lewis
There was a similar almost 50% discount on the Nespresso Vertuo Next in the UK on Black Friday 2020. Nespresso's latest coffee maker has never dropped as low since, so we're hopeful this year will see some substantial savings.

Image

Nespresso VertuoPlus: £179 £79 at Nespresso
In the UK, there was an impressive £100 discount on the Nespresso VertuoPlus last Black Friday. Not only that but the saving, which was automatically applied at the checkout, even included 100 free coffee capsules, so you could enjoy rich, intense coffee-based drinks as soon as the machine arrived at your door.

The UK saw similar savings on this Nespresso coffee machine, which has a 1.5 -liter water tank and a display that allows you to select the coffee you want to brew. Even better the stylish appliance comes with a milk jug, to make latte art even easier.

Tips for buying a Nespresso machine this Black Friday

If you're looking for a Nespresso coffee machine this Black Friday, before you hit the purchase button it's important to consider the type of Nespresso capsules the machine takes. There are two types; Vertuo and Original.

The Vertuo capsules are wider and short than the iconic pods used in the Original range of coffee machines. They feature a barcode on the side that the Nespresso machine reads and uses the information to adjust the brewing parameters such as the volume of liquid or the duration it takes to create the coffee. However, these capsules are currently only available from Nespresso.

The icon taller but thinner pods used by the Original machines are available direct from Nespresso, while compatible capsules can be picked up in a range of high street stores, and are cheaper than the Nespresso-branded option.

Next, consider the type of drinks you want to make in the coffee machine. The Nespresso Vertuo coffee makers can produce five different sizes of drink, while models in the Original range only offer single or double espresso options. Some of these designs also come with a built-in steam wand for texturizing milk, while the Vertuo range doesn't offer this. Instead, you'll need to purchase an additional milk frother - Nespresso's is called the Aeroccino.

2 best Nespresso coffee machines to look for on Black Friday

Nespresso Vertuo Next

1. Nespresso Vertuo Next

The best coffee maker for single-serve pods

Type: Single-serve pod machine | Milk frother: No | Number of drink sizes: 5

Mess-free
Easy to use
Can create five different sized drinks
Pods are expensive
You can’t froth milk with it

Not only does this coffee maker create coffee with body and a stable crema, but it's also compact and won't take up too much space on your kitchen countertop.

The Nespresso Vertuo Next can produce five different-sized drinks and is extremely simple to use. However, using capsules is more expensive than ground coffee and with no steam wand, it can't make longer coffee-based drinks with milk.

The best deal we've ever seen was just over a month before Black Friday when in the US, the machine was slashed to $99  -  a saving of almost 50%, while similar discounts were seen in the UK in the week of Black Friday. The coffee machine hasn't seen the same level of discount since, but we expect it to be matched this holiday shopping period.

2. Nespresso VertuoPlus

The best single serve pod coffee maker for large quantities

Type: Single-serve pod machine | Milk frother: No | Number of drink sizes: 5

Easy to use
Large water tank
Can create five different sized drinks
Pods are expensive
You can’t froth milk with it

Just as easy to use as its newer sibling, the Nespresso VertuoPlus only has a handful of differences to the Vertuo Next, but if you drink a lot of coffee it could be crucial.  The water tank is 1.9-quarts / 1.8-liters, which is almost double the capacity of the Nespresso Vertuo. Even better it can be positioned either behind the coffee machine or to the side, making it easier to fit on your kitchen countertop too.

In the UK, the price for this coffee machine actually dropped to its lowest ever price in August this year, beating the discount we saw on Black Friday 2020. We hope this record-low price will be offered  again as part of the holiday deals.
