The brand new iPhone Duo is available to preorder at T-Mobile — and the carrier is offering a massive $1,000 discount
There are a few different ways to save, too
The brand-new Apple iPhone Duo is officially available to preorder today, and T-Mobile has a fantastic promotion for new and old customers alike. Currently available is an excellent discount of up to $1,000 off, with a few flexible routes to achieving that maximum discount on this admittedly pricey device.
First up, there's the carrier's trade-in criteria, which is up to $1,000 off with a new line on the high-end Experience Beyond plan, and up to $830 off with the mid-tier Experience More plan. Both options are excellent and give you a few ways to save depending on what tier of plan you're looking at.
Alternatively, those looking to switch can skip the trade-in criteria completely and get a $1,000 discount with an eligible number port-in. As you've probably guessed already, this one is tied to the Experience More plan, so it's best suited to anyone looking at upgrading to a really high-end plan.
In this case, that means super-speedy 5G data, a five-year price guarantee, and a Netflix Standard and Hulu account included. On top of that, there's also 4K UHD streaming, 250GB of mobile hotspot allowance, and early access to upgrades.
T-Mobile's opening iPhone Duo deal is here
Apple iPhone Duo: up to $1,000 off with a trade-in and new line at T-Mobile
T-Mobile's opening deal offers a couple of ways to save on the brand new iPhone Duo. First up, you can trade in for an excellent discount of up to $1,000 if you pick up the device alongside a new line on the Experience Beyond plan. Secondly, if you're a new customer, you can actually port your number over from another carrier and skip the trade-in criteria completely with a line on the Experience Beyond plan. If that plan doesn't fit, then note that you can still trade in for a discount on the more affordable plans.
What's new with the iPhone Duo?
The iPhone Duo is Apple's first foray into foldable phones. It features a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR inner screen with a matte-like finish designed to minimise the appearance of the crease. Unlike rivals from Samsung and Google, its shorter, wider design resembles a passport or a foldable iPad mini, rather than the book-like design common on other foldable devices.
Under the hood, it packs Apple's new A20 Pro chipset and a titanium frame reinforced with ceramic fibres. Apple has also introduced exclusive software features, including new Liquid Glass animations, widescreen support for popular apps, and Apple Pencil compatibility for the first time on an iPhone.
In short, it's a very well-featured device. However, it does miss a few features like Face ID, a telephoto camera, and the Action button, all of which are available on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
