Hulu price and plans: best deals, bundles and cost compared to Netflix, Disney+ and more

The price of a Hulu subscription mainly varies depending on whether you want ads or not (among other extra features), with the ad-free option being more expensive. Hulu is also available in a variety of packages, depending on whether you'd like to access live TV or the standalone service alongside others in a bundle at an extra cost.

Hulu prices at a glance

The Hulu price has changed a lot since its official launch in 2008. Despite the cost of its ad tier decreasing in early 2019 from $7.99 to $5.99, subscribers have since seen it increase over the years with back-to-back price hikes occurring since 2021 across both of its plans.

The most recent Hulu price hike is set to go ahead from October 21, 2025. Disney announced that it will raise prices for several of its streaming services, including its Hulu bundles. The standalone Hulu plan is set to see its ad-supported tier jump by $3 to $11.99 per month. Fortunately, though, the ad-free plan's price will remain unchanged at $18.99 a month.

Hulu's Live TV bundle, will also rise in costs in October, jumping by as much as $7 to $88.99 per month. This is by far the biggest increase in prices that Disney is rolling out to its streaming services, making it one of the hardest hit.

Hulu price hikes have increasingly become an annual occurrence, with the past three years seeing consecutive changes to the cost of the streaming service. Hulu's last price hike, for instance, came into effect on October 17, 2024 and was also part of a larger Disney subscription hike, which saw increases across both Hulu's plans and bundles. This required members to fork out an extra $1-2 for Hulu with ads and Hulu without ads, and a further $6 for the Hulu with Live TV, Disney+ and ESPN bundle.

Hulu plans at a glance

Hulu has two main plans to choose from for its on-demand service that depend on whether you want ads or not (as well as other features). It also offers various bundles with its live TV plans, which include Disney+ and ESPN Select, that you can subscribe to with or without ads. Both of these plans can be bundled with other Disney services as well as multiple add-ons for other services, including HBO Max, Cinemax, Paramount+ with Showtime and Starz (see further below for pricing).

In terms of features, every Hulu plan allows you stream on two screens at the same time. If that's not enough for you, then there's the option to purchase an Unlimited Screens add-on for $9.99 per month, however, this is only available for those subscribed to the live TV plan.

If you're subscribed to one of Hulu's on-demand plans and want to share your account with people outside of your household, then you'll have to pay extra. Much like Disney+, Hulu introduced a password crackdown on March 14, 2024 that prohibits users from sharing their accounts unless they pay for an extra member – the prices of which vary depending on which plan you're on (see below).

By far the best bundle offer is that you can throw together Disney+ and Hulu from $10.99 a month. There are now four bundle options, evolving from its previously quite inflexible plan in which it was all or nothing with all three streaming services, including ESPN+, under one payment of $14.99 a month. As you can see, Hulu is the most expensive major streaming service to subscribe to if you don't want to put up with ads. However, that could change in 2026 when Disney+ and Hulu are combined into a single app.

Disney+ has gradually be combining the two apps for some time. In March 2024, it officially made Hulu part of the Disney+ app and has since been making inroads to merge both streamer's content together.
