World Backup Day is a great reminder that there are simple ways to protect your files, like using a USB flash drive, and I've spotted several deals on these at Amazon.
For fast everyday transfers, I like the Samsung Type-C USB flash drive now $31.99 (was $33.99). It delivers read speeds up to 400MB/s and works neatly with modern USB-C laptops and phones. Those who prefer something tougher should look at the Samsung Bar Plus for $21.49 (was $39.99), which offers a rugged metal casing and dependable performance for daily use.
The SanDisk Ultra Flair USB 3.0 flash drive is $16.17 (was $16.99). This is our hardware editor's daily driver, handling reliable everyday storage with solid speeds and a durable metal casing.
If you need flexible storage across multiple devices, Techkey's 3-in-1 USB flash drive is now $29.94 (was $39.99). It comes with USB, Lightning, and USB-C connectors, making it a great option for moving files between phones, tablets, and computers.
Anyone chasing top-tier speed should check out the Patriot Supersonic Rage Prime, now $119.99 (was $132.99), which delivers extremely fast performance in a compact design that can rival some portable SSDs while staying small enough to carry anywhere.
Finally, for anyone looking to stock up on affordable storage, there's the PNY Turbo Attaché 3 5-pack for $39.99 (was $47.99) - this deal includes five 64GB drives for under $40.
You'll need to be quick, as tomorrow is the last day of Amazon's Spring Sale - and that's true of the best portable SSD deals I've found too. For more tech deals, visit our Amazon Big Spring Sale live hub.

USB Flash drives remain useful
USB drives aren't anywhere near as popular as they used to be, what with cloud storage and portable SSDs taking over many everyday storage tasks, but they still have a place as part of a well-rounded plan for protecting important files.
Years ago I lost a load of data when my PC actually caught on fire after a hard drive failure, and since then I've become obsessed with backing up my files across different media to avoid losing anything important again.
My digital life is backed up to the cloud through several services, but that one bad experience (and the time ransomware briefly locked me out of my computer) taught me not to rely on just one method.
While I have backups of my files on portable SSDs, I also like to keep copies of important documents, photos, and similar files on password-protected flash drives. They’re small enough to slip into a pocket or bag and connect instantly without cables, which makes it easy to keep backup copies stored away from my main device.
