NordVPN is at the top of our list when recommending the best VPN available on the market. And while a common misconception is that premium comes at a steep cost, that's not always the case. We're here to explain everything you need to know about this provider, including the various NordVPN price points, bundles, and any current deals you can make the most of.

Providing a selection of top-tier features including a dedicated kill switch and double encryption for super tight security, as well as the ability to unblock many of your favorite streaming platforms, NordVPN's live chat support is also excellent. To top it off, the cost of its plans won't break the bank.

Here we explain what NordVPN prices and discounts are available and what the best offers are if you want to sign up now.

How much does NordVPN cost?

Previously new NordVPN customers only had the option of Nord's three plans, signing you up for either a month, year, or two-year period, with pricing as follows:

  • 1-month plan: $11.99 a month
  • 1-year plan: $4.49 a month (billed $59.88 for the first year)
  • 2-year plan: $2.49 a month (billed $78.96 for the first 2 years)

Annual and multi-year plans allow you to pay a lump sum upfront and save money in the long run, while its one-month plan is more pricey but ideal for those who, for whatever reason, only want Nord in the short term. Want even more for your money? Keep scrolling for NordVPN's bundle packages, throwing in NordPass and NordLocker.

NordVPN always goes big on discounts with its long-term plan, and right now, you can save big on its multi-year plan and get its Threat Protection feature thrown in. Sign up to Nord's excellent service for the next two years and be done with it!

It's also worth keeping an eye out for special deals. It's been known to celebrate its birthday by giving up to an extra year or more free tagged onto the end of your subscription. Are there any NordVPN bundle deals?

Joining the likes of ExpressVPN and Surfshark in offering extras to its users, including a password manager and cloud storage, you can now also choose to bundle these together for an additional cost.

These are split into the Plus and Complete plans. The Plus plan includes NordPass (its password manager and data breach scanner).

  • Plus 1 month plan: $12.69 a month
  • Plus 1 year plan: $5.69 a month (billed $68.28 for the first year)
  • Plus 2 year plan: $3.99 a month (billed $95.76 for first 2 years)

NordVPN's Complete plan also throws in NordLocker (1TB of encrypted cloud storage).

  • Complete 1 month plan: $13.99 a month
  • Complete 1 year plan: $6.99 a month (billed $83.88 for the first year)
  • Complete 2 year plan: $5.29 a month (billed $126.96 for the first 2 years)

Both the regular plans and the NordVPN bundles come with what it markets as a NordVPN free trial. In truth, this is simply its industry-standard 30-day money-back guarantee period (opens in new tab). Regardless, this gives you the option to try risk-free with the option of a refund if you're not sold on its product.

How good is NordVPN?

There are plenty of reasons we love NordVPN. It provides peace of mind knowing that your data is secure thanks to a strict no-logging policy and offers reliable performance across the board.

You'll also get some of the best speeds, even when connecting further afield. In fact, NordVPN finds itself at the top of our fastest VPN buying guide. With over 5,500 servers dotted about the world, there's P2P support for all those torrent fans, and you can enjoy this on many devices thanks to a wide selection of client software options.

Providing a selection of top-tier features including a dedicated kill switch and double encryption for super tight security, as well as the ability to unblock many of your favorite streaming platforms, this is one of our top choices if you're after a Netflix VPN, adding BBC iPlayer, Prime Video, and Disney Plus to its unblocking list. NordVPN's live chat support is also excellent. To top it off, the cost of its plans won't break the bank.

How do NordVPN prices compare to the competition?

Despite NordVPN being one of the more premium VPN services out there, it does still make it into our best cheap VPN providers guide. That's largely thanks to the savings you can make with the longer-term deals.

It's also because this does manage to undercut the top-end service, ExpressVPN, which though priced highly does offer the best overall service and is rated our best VPN. That said, ExpressVPN comes with free unlimited Backblaze cloud storage (if you subscribe through one of our links (opens in new tab)) and its own password management at no extra cost.

If you want to get a really affordable option, then you're probably better off looking at Surfshark. It's still a great quality VPN, but can be had for a lower cost if you're comfortable signing up for a full two years. In fact, the effective monthly cost comes in at less than $2.50/£2 (opens in new tab). Or upgrade to Surfshark One, which includes its own antivirus and more, for an additional $1.99 a month.
