When we originally reviewed the Sony WH-1000XM5s, we called them 'the best in the business.' They are still a top option today, and with this latest price drop at Amazon, they become some of the most affordable and best value noise-canceling headphones out there.

They had started to fall behind some models due to the high starting price, but they are a much more competitive choice now that they've dropped under $250. That puts them in a similar price bracket to the Bose QuietComfort Headphones and the Sennheiser Momentum 4. Both are solid choices as well, but the XM5s do best them in certain areas.

If it's ANC and sound quality that you want to prioritize over everything else, this offer on the XM5s is the clear choice, as long as you're happy to make small compromises on battery life (still up to 30 hours) and don't mind the foldable design.
