I received a bit of stick when compiling my list of top 10high-definition TVs recently.

Why, the voices cried in protest, no Samsung? The world's number one TV maker and it doesn'teven make any of the 10 best high-def tellies? Ludicrous.

Well, I take it all back. Just this week I've seen twohigh-def Samsung stunners that have made me change my mind.

The 37-inch LE37R87BDX will set you back less than £600 ifyou shop smart. In return you get a 37-inch LCD with all the trappings ofrivals at twice the price. Samsung continues to redefine style with itsunfailingly gorgeous looks. But more than that - try as you might, you can'tfind anything at all that even suggests corner-cutting to reach such a lowprice.

Even better, though, is the 42-inch LE42Q97HD . It'scertainly Samsung's best plasma to date, with slightly weak SD pictures theonly chink in its impeccably stylish armour. But what really blows me away isthe price - it costs just the other side of £650.

In terms of value for money, Samsung has torn up the rulebook. Sure, if you're willing to go for something a year or two old, you canfind some massively discounted HD bargains.

But they won't come with three HDMI ports, for instance, like these do. Theyalso won't look this good. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some humble pie toattend to...
