VPN deal of the week: I've found a $30 VPN that's faster than NordVPN, Surfshark, and ExpressVPN, can unblock your favorite streaming services, and has the best built-in ad blocker of any VPN I've tested — here's how to get yourself protected
It's not often that Surfshark is bested for price, but one VPN that constantly does is PrivadoVPN.
It first dropped to its absurd $1.11 per month price over Black Friday 2024 — and it's not risen since. That makes it cheaper than Surfshark (the best cheap VPN), cheaper than NordVPN (the best VPN overall) and cheaper than ExpressVPN too.
Right now, Surfshark is down to an also-excellent $1.78 per month deal but that works out at $48.06 in total over the two-year arrangement. That's still a lot more than PrivadoVPN which is $30 over the same period.
Despite costing $18 less, PrivadoVPN still includes an ad, tracker, and malware protection; social media and adult content blocking; and security features such as split tunneling and a kill switch.
The $30 VPN deal you can trust
PrivadoVPN: Only $30 for 27 months of protection
PrivadoVPN is the best way to access a super-cheap VPN without compromising on performance.
While it lacks the breadth of features of competitors like Surfshark, it's by far the fastest VPN available right now. Plus, it's got all the essentials, such as split tunneling and a kill switch.
Its biggest drawback is its lack of a third-party no-logs audit. While it's had no incidents to make us query its policy as yet, it's a big marker of a trustworthy VPN that PrivadoVPN currently lacks.

What's more, PrivadoVPN reached the fastest peak speeds for any VPN in our early 2026 round of testing. We recorded a connection of 2,334 Mbps over WireGuard through the closest PrivadoVPN server to our test PC.
That's almost twice as fast as any other with Proton VPN (1475 Mbps) its nearest rival.
What's the catch?
At $30 for two years, PrivadoVPN leaves very little to complain about.
That said, if streaming is your top priority, there are better VPNs for streaming.
PrivadoVPN works just fine at unblocking Netflix, and regional services including BBC iPlayer, Peacock, and more but if you're looking for shows from Prime Video or Disney+ wherever you go, then NordVPN is a better choice.
Secondly, PrivadoVPN does not subject itself to third-party audits of its no-logs and privacy policies. All the same, it does clearly take privacy seriously. It even recently relocated from Switzerland to Iceland in the name of user privacy and we've certainly never seen nothing untoward in our PrivadoVPN review.
Otherwise, the only other non-included feature that you might want is antivirus, but you can add that in as an extra at $1.99 per month.
All in all, a bargain of a VPN.
