The world’s greatest celebration of dogs has brought 18,698 perfectly primped and preened pooches to Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre, where The Kennel Club's judging panel – headed up by Dr Tamas Jakkel – have the impossible task of picking out their favorite, the Best in Show. It's a ruff job, but someone's got to do it.
To bring some structure and logic to the colossal undertaking, the contest is split into stages: Best of Breed, Group Judging, and the Best in Show final. Sunday focuses on Gundogs (from 6.50pm GMT), before the Best in Show presentation begins at 8.30pm GMT.
Hazel the Welsh Corgi won the Pastoral Group title, with Dzhozias Viking the Tibetan Mastiff taking Working Group top honors. Fredy the Lakeland Terrier and Meghan the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen were the pick of the Terrier and Hound groups respectively. Spencer the Miniature Schnauzer won the Utility group title, and Dublin the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was top of the Toy group pops.
An don't forget to cast your vote for the Royal Kennel Club Hero Dog Award, which will be presented at 5.55pm GMT. You can vote on the Crufts website.
