Father's Day Gifts under AU$50
Iniu B6 power bank
Why you can trust TechRadar
A portable charger might not be the fanciest gift, but if you're looking to grab dad something useful that he might not think of himself, it's hard to go past one of the best power banks in Australia.
It's easy to use and super portable, with a fast 20W charging speed and it even has a built-in kickstand and torch. Alternatively, the Ugreen power bank is a magnetic, wireless option that latches onto the back of dad's phone. Note that it requires an iPhone 12 or newer, another Qi2-enabled phone, or a magnetic phone case.
Bluetooth tracker
If dad is always looking for his wallet and keys, a Bluetooth tracker is the perfect gift. The Tile Mate, which we praised in Tile Mate, Tile Slim, and Tile Sticker (2022) review, is an agnostic option that works with the majority of devices with an IP67 waterproof rating and a three-year battery.
However, if dad has an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy phone, we'd point you towards the Apple AirTag or Samsung SmartTag 2.
Meat Thermometer
I'm sure dad takes pride in grilling the perfect steak without any help, but tech is there to help even when you don't need it. A meat thermometer lets you guarantee a perfect cook on any cut of meat – all dad needs to do is google at what temperature his cut will be cooked to the desired level and then take it off once the thermometer reads that number.
While there are premium options like the Meater Pro that offer high-tech features like digital sensors, greater Bluetooth ranges and faster charging, affordable options like the ThermoPro digital meat thermometer offer easy use and accurate readings.
Ugreen Vertical Ergonomic Mouse
If dad complains of a sore wrist, arm or back from long hours at his desk, an ergonomic vertical mouse could be the answer and this affordable Ugreen option is a great way to try one without breaking the bank.
While it lacks the lasting materials of pricier options like the Logitech Lift or Logitech MX Vertical, the 57-degree angle of this much cheaper mouse lets dad hold it in a more natural 'handshake' position. As an entry point to vertical mice, or just to see if it eases some of that wrist pain, it's a great gift.
Remington Multi-Grooming Kit
While the Philips 360 Pro (below) is a more premium option for facial shaving, this Remington kit is a great all-in-one grooming solution on a budget.
For less than AU$30 this trimmer boasts titanium-coated blades that promise to last longer than regular stainless steel, with a full 60-minute runtime. It comes with a full-size 32mm trimmer and adjustable beard comb, as well as a mini foil shaver for a close shave and attachments for the nose, ears and moustache.
Father's Day Gifts under AU$150
Breville the Aroma Style electric coffee maker
If dad pines for a classic pot of joe like the ones in American diners, Breville's the Aroma Style eelectric coffee maker is the perfect Father's Day gift.
This simple drip-style machine won't provide flat whites or cappuccinos, but it's perfect for anyone who wants a straightforward, tasty cup of coffee. It can be programmed to brew at a specific time so he can wake up to a fresh pot and you can even adjust the strength.
Nothing Ear (a) earbuds
Technically, these earbuds retail for AU$169, but you're just going to have to believe us that they're worth the extra AU$19 – and they're very often available for much less.
For a very affordable price, these wireless earbuds offer lively audio that sounds much more expensive than they are. They also feature great noise-cancelling and a fantastic, compact design. If you need something a touch cheaper, the Sony WF-C510 can be had for less than AU$100 and our tester said they'd pick them over AirPods in our review.
Fire TV Stick 4K Max
If dad’s TV is struggling to keep up with the best streaming services, you don't need to buy him a new 4K TV to upgrade his entertainment (though we do have some recommendations below).
To turn his 'dumb' TV into a smart one, simply plug in the Amazon Fire TV 4K Max (the standard 4K model is also a great option) like any standard HDMI cord. In just a few seconds, dad will have immediate access to apps like Disney Plus, Apple TV Plus and Kayo Sports.
Philips OneBlade 360
We said it might be 'the perfect budget razor' in our Philips OneBlade 360 review. So, while it lacks USB-C charging, we think that's a minor flaw for a device that offers a fuss-free, close shave.
The Philips OneBlade 360 is a nigh-on essential tool for any man's grooming routine. It's gentle on the skin and suitable for the face or body. Plus, it's waterproof – which makes it incredibly easy to use and clean. if that's not enough to convince you, replacement heads are cheap and you can even often find it for less than AU$100.
Fitbit Inspire 3
You don't need a larger budget to give dad a health upgrade this Father's Day. The Fitbit Inspire 3 is a great option for newcomers and veterans looking for simple activity tracking. We loved its health-tracking features, intuitive mobile app and bright display in our Fitbit Inspire 3 review.
The Fitbit Inspire 3 won't take up much residence on dad's wrist, but the small AMOLED display is bright and easy to read, and we really liked its health-tracking features like sleep-tracking and SpO2 sensor. While it actually retails for a touch higher than this price bracket at AU$178, it's discounted regularly on Amazon.
Father's Day Gifts under AU$300
Sonos Roam Bluetooth speaker
It's hard to go wrong with one of the best ereaders, and you don't need to spend big for high quality. With Father's Day and Afterpay Day sales approaching, many of our top picks are likely to be found at great prices.
While you can peruse the guide above, we have a couple specific ereaders we think dad would love. If AU$300 is your budget, the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite is hard to beat at AU$299, though the AU$249 Kobo Clara BW actually scored better in our review. If dad reads comics or would enjoy a colour display, the Kobo Libra Colour is the clear choice. And, if dad would use a digital notepad and ereader, the Viwoods AiPaper Mini is our pick.
Nespresso Vertuo Pop
If you're looking to up dad's morning coffee without spending hundreds or thousands on one of the more expensive options among the best coffee machines, the Nespresso Vertuo Pop is an easy pick.
It's incredibly easy to use, and we highly rate Nespresso's Vertuo pods over their regular pods. This machine earned five stars in our five-star Nespresso Vertuo Pop review, providing great-tasting coffee quickly, without any stress, whether it's an espresso or cappuccino you're after. Even better, we've seen it as low as AU$88 during big sales.
AirPods 4
When it comes to the best earbuds on the market, you can't go wrong – and you can get high-quality buds for less than AU$100. However, if you're looking to blow dad away in 2025, the newest AirPods are a great way to do it.
Whether you choose the noise-cancelling model or the regular buds, they offer a comfortable and secure fit, great sound and incredible integration with all your Apple devices. If dad's not an Apple user (though AirPods will still work great), we recommend the Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds or Samsung's Galaxy Buds 3 if he has a Samsung phone.
Apple TV 4K
While the Fire TV Stick 4K is an excellent budget choice, the Apple TV 4K offers a smoother performance and user-friendly interface. This device provides an overall level of quality that will give dad the best possible experience, whether he's watching Jeopardy! or Jaws for the 50th time.
The only drawback in our Apple TV 4K review is that it's a little pricey at over AU$200, but we think it's worth it if dad loves watching telly. And, as we approach Father's Day, it's likely we'll see little discounts.
Air Fryer
Air fryers continue to be one of the most popular kitchen appliances – and for good reason. They offer fast cooking speeds, less oil than shallow or deep frying and supreme ease of use. While their small baskets make them ill-equipped for large families, this is not always the case, and a smaller device is still handy for cooking sides.
If you're shopping under AU$300 then there's a massive array of options to choose from. The Instant Vortex air fryer earned four stars in our review and can be found for less than AU$100, while the Air Fryer Chef Plus from Breville offers a more premium experience in a similar size. At this price point, though, it's hard to ignore the Ninja FlexDrawer Air Fryer. It's a smaller version of our 'best big basket' air fryer that lets you cook two foods at once in seperate baskets.,
Father's Day Gifts Under AU$500
Massage Gun
A massage gun is a gift that will keep dad feeling great, whether he has a physical job, jogs daily, or needs to care for his back after long hours at a desk.
There's a few options to choose from when picking a massage gun for dad. In our guide to the best massage guns, we rank the AU$300 Theragun Sense as the best for most people – awarding it five stars in our Theragun Sense review. Meanwhile, the Theragun Pro is the best option for those with a larger budget and the Theragun Prime sits between the two. There's also the Theragun Relief, which will only set you back AU$199. Another great choice is the Hydragun, which I bought for my own dad a few years ago.
Wireless noise-cancelling headphones
While most of the best headphones and best noise-cancelling headphones technically retail for more than AU$500, they are so regularly discounted that they're almost always available for much less. Only recently, we've seen massive deals on the Sony WH-1000XM5 and Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones.
When it comes to over-ear noise-cancelling cans, those two, as well as the Sony WH-1000XM4 and Sennheiser Momentum 4 are easy recommendations. Got a tighter budget? The 1More SonoFlow Pro offer insane value for a smidge over AU$100.
Smartwatch
While they might not sit at the top of our guide to the best smartwatches (that's the Apple Watch Ultra 2), we could easily name any number of smartwatches at this price. However, your choice will depend on your dad, the devices he uses and what he'd use a smartwatch for.
For iPhone users, the Apple Watch SE is an easy choice for less than AU$400. Samsung fans can get great prices on the Galaxy Watch 7 with the recent release of the Watch 8 and, if dad's a serious fitness aficionado, any one of the best Garmin watches array is a safe bet.
Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch 2 is here, but any serious gaming dad has likely already snagged it for himself. And, if not, you don't need me to tell you he wants it. But, for the dad who has fallen away from his old hobby, the original Nintendo Switch (or Nintendo Switch Lite) is a great buy this Father's Day.
While it will set you back AU$429 at full price, during Afterpay Day and as we approach Father's Day, the older Switch might see some large discounts. And, if you get a Nintendo Online membership, dad can enjoy all his childhood favourites from the NES and SNES era.
Bedroom TV
As tech experts, we simply can't recommend a cheap TV for the main entertainment room, even if it's for a no-fuss dad who's still using a fat TV from the early 2000s. For the bedroom, though – there are wonderful budget-friendly options.
From stores like JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and Appliances Online, you can get a cheap 4K TV from trusted brands like TCL for less than AU$700. There's also even cheaper options from lesser-known brands like Ffalcon that sneak in under AU$500 (that I have personally gifted and received positive responses for) and you can save more if 4K isn't a must.
Also consider...
If you’d really like to indulge dad this Father’s Day, and your budget allows for it, consider the below options.
Gozney Roccbox pizza oven
The Gozney Roccbox provides restaurant-quality pizza from home, making it an excellent Father's Day gift. In our Gozney Roccbox pizza oven review, we gave it a perfect five stars, with the only drawback being a maximum pizza size of 12 inches.
AU$799.99 at full price, this pizza oven offers fast, delicious pizza that's almost as easy to make one after another as it is to eat them. If dad loves to cook, a pizza oven will enhance family dinner – and if pizza is your go-to takeaway, it pays for itself after a few uses.
4K TV
For a full guide to the best TV to buy for dad this Father's Day, you can check out our guides to the best TVs, whether you want the top 75-inch screens or a more moderate 55-inch option.
That said, there are really few better times to buy a TV than right now. Many of our favourite options are regularly discounted, letting you get a top-tier TV that will completely revolutionise dad's viewing for around AU$1,000 – like the TCL C6K.
PlayStation 5
If dad hasn't yet entered the current generation of gaming, Father's Day is the perfect time to get him a PlayStation 5. With an incredible library of games, exclusive content, the DualSense controller, lightning-fast load speeds and stunning visuals, it's an amazing machine.
It also doubles as both a great Blu-ray player and makes traversing the best streaming services easier than most streaming devices. If dad's a big-time Halo fan, the Xbox Series X is also a worthy pick-up – but many former Xbox exclusives like Forza Horizon 5 are playable on PlayStation now.
Apple iPad Mini 7 (2024)
Despite its small size, the iPad Mini is the perfect middle ground for those who want more power than the 2025 iPad but don't have the budget for an Air or Pro. You still get a premium tablet experience, just within a supremely compact build.
While the iPad 11-inch (2025) is a great choice for most people, the iPad Mini is well worth the extra cost if dad travels, likes to draw, or would use Apple's AI features.
Breville The Barista Touch Impress
While we've listed a couple more affordable options above, if dad takes his coffee seriously, this will be the best gift he's ever got – and likely ever will get. We think it's the best coffee machine on the market, making the most of Breville's at-home coffee to make a semi-automatic machine that anyone can use.
This machine makes professional-level coffee at home without requiring dad to be a barista. It also doesn't require a lot of space or cleanup. Earning five stars in our Breville The Barista Touch Impress review, the only downside is its price. For a great machine that's not as expensive, we recommend the Breville The Barista Pro.
Father's Day FAQs
When is Father's Day?
Father's Day always lands on the first Sunday of September, so you can always rest assured that it will land somewhere between the first and seventh each year. In 2025 that is 7 September.
What activities are good for Father's Day?
Well, like any individual-focused special occasion like birthdays, a Father's Day activity should be anything dad wants to do. If he's anything like mine, that means sitting at home with the family, having a barbeque, watching the footy or a movie.
In all seriousness though, you could take dad on a fishing trip, to a brewery or winery, a cooking class, sports game or the golf course. Whatever dad is into, there's a Father's Day activity to match – just make sure it's something he wants to do. The answer might be nothing at all – that's okay!
What's a good first Father's Day gift?
Whether the bubba is already here or about to arrive, a dad's first Father's Day is a very special moment for him, the baby and his partner – but it can be hard to know what to get him.
While all the regular go-tos like socks and a mug are still good, if you want to mark the extra-special occasion with a special first Father's Day gift, it's hard to go past an engraved framed photo. It could be of an ultrasound, dad and his baby, an old photo of you when you started dating or a photo of him as a baby with his dad, all options are all-but guaranteed to result in waterworks and a special place on his mantle.
If you're looking to go another way, there are books written as if from child to father that can be personalised to include your child's name, their nickname for dad and any of dads defining features to make it more personal. Dad's first Father's Day is also a great time to lock-in your babymoon or first trip as a happy little family, and you could always give dad a nice quiet day to read and watch movies before the baby comes along.
What should a personalised Father's Day Hamper include?
The beauty of opting for a personalised Father's Day hamper is that you can include anything you (and dad) like! If dad's an avid gamer it can be filled with games, controllers, t-shirts, socks and of course his favourite gaming snacks. If he loves to read then a personalised hamper made up of books, an Audible or Kindle subscription, a reading light and special bookmark sounds like a hit. And if dad loves to barbeque then you can't go wrong with a hamper filled with spices, rubs, marinades, tools and utensils.
Point is, a personalised hamper is the perfect Father's Day gift because it allows you to tailor it to your dad. Of course, if you don't have the time to do it yourself, there are plenty of pre-made options that make great gifts, and even let you pick and choose from certain products to ensure it's to dad's liking.
