If you've got an old iPhone to trade in, Apple's trade-in rebate of up to £650 is one of the better trade-in discounts available right now. And if you're shopping for the iPhone 16 specifically, Apple will throw in a free £60 gift card for your troubles (or a £40 gift card if you buy the iPhone 16e). These aren't the best deals in the world, but since many people prefer the security of shopping at Apple directly, they're worth considering (especially if you're pairing up your iPhone with a SIM-only contract).

Starting with the SIM-only savings, Laptops Direct has the budget-focused iPhone 16e at just £479 right now. As Apple's cheapest current-generation handset, the iPhone 16e brings the essential iPhone experience down in price while retaining great features like the 48MP Fusion Camera and Action Button. The iPhone 16e caused some debate over its price at launch, but this discount price is much more in line with comparable handsets like the Google Pixel 9a and Samsung Galaxy A56 (note, though, that it only applies to the white variant).

Amazon also has the 256GB version of the iPhone 16e on sale for a record-low £599 right now. In truth, 256GB is a much safer storage option than 128GB (especially if you're planning to hold on to your next phone for at least two years), so I'd urge prospective iPhone 16e buyers to consider this deal over the one above if you can afford to do so (think of it as Amazon giving you double the storage for a full-priced iPhone 16e).

The iPhone 16 is still a great pick for Apple fans one year after release. It's got a beautiful 6.1-inch display, two high-quality cameras with the Camera Control shutter button, and the speedy A18 chipset with support for Apple Intelligence. At this record-low, Amazon-beating price, the iPhone 16 is barely more expensive than the budget-tier iPhone 16e, and it beats that device on multiple fronts. The green variant is the current cheapest model, but Laptop Direct's £619 price on the other colours still beats Amazon's £649 deal prices.

The iPhone 16 Plus is the same great phone as the smaller iPhone 16, with a bigger 6.7-inch display and larger battery, offering up to 27 hours of video playback. It's got the same A18 chip as its smaller sibling, as well as the same dual-camera system and overall design. This discount from Laptops Direct brings the price of the handset down to the current retail price of the smaller iPhone 16, though it's not available on all colours.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max was discontinued when the iPhone 17 series came in to replace it, and as such, it's hard to find new models on the market, let alone big discounts. Still, Laptops Direct has a deal on last year's best iPhone, bringing the price of this premium handset down to £1,099. Sure, that's still expensive, but it beats the price of the new iPhone 17 Pro Max by £100.

John Lewis has knocked £30 off the price of the iPhone 17 Pro with 512GB of storage, and hey, we'll take it. Big cash discounts on iPhones are hard to come by, so this is probably as good as we'll get. Nevertheless, the iPhone 17 Pro is a superbly powerful compact phone, with a 6.3-inch display, the powerful A19 chipset, and a triple-camera system that beats all competitors. This model comes with 512GB of storage, giving you loads of room for apps, games, photos, and videos.

The big one: the iPhone 17 Pro Max is the best iPhone money can buy, and also the best camera phone on the market. This is a supremely powerful iPhone that ranks amongst the best phones on the market thanks to its 6.9-inch display, array of three 48MP rear cameras, and powerful A19 Pro chipset. A £30 discount is, honestly, nothing to write home about, but it's about as good as we're expecting to see for this absolute powerhouse, which in this configuration comes with 512GB of storage.

Apple iPhone 17 Pro: 40GB for £10/mo at Sky
Sky is currently offering 40GB of data for just £10 per month, which is among the best Cyber Monday data deals available right now. This promotion can be added to the network's £34-per-month plan on the iPhone 17 Pro (totalling £44 per month with a £12 upfront cost), but it's also available on the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air, so you can choose whichever new Apple device you prefer, and save big.

Apple iPhone 17 series: £552 off with a trade-in and plan at Vodafone
Vodafone is offering discounts of up to £552 across the iPhone 17 range when you trade in an old phone and open a new contract. That can bag you an iPhone 17 for as little as £26.57 per month with just £40 to pay upfront. Willing to consider a refurbished model? If so, Vodafone is also offering up to £360 off an iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Plus.

Apple iPhone 17: save £360 on Unlimited tariffs at O2
Understandably, there aren't many device-only iPhone 17 discounts out there right now, but O2 is offering a neat £360 saving on its Unlimited, Unlimited Plus, and Unlimited Ultimate Airtime Plans this Cyber Monday (you'll save £10 per month over 36 months). You can find similar deals at other networks (see Sky's data deal above), but O2 offers a nice mix of benefits like data rollover, free roaming, and early access to concert tickets.

Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max: save £117 on Airtime Plan at Vodafone
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is the most in-demand (and therefore most expensive) phone on the market right now, so deals aren't exactly forthcoming. But Vodafone is at least offering half price off select airtime plans for six months. The regular 5G Unlimited plan, for instance, will cost you £54.25 per month until May, before that price increases to £76.25. Bear in mind, though, that the above Sky deal could get you an iPhone 17 Pro Max with 40GB of data for as little as £47 per month, but Vodafone does benefit from superior network coverage thanks to its partnership with Three.

Apple iPhone Air: save £216 on select Tesco Mobile contracts
If you're a Tesco Clubcard member (it's free to sign up), you can save up to £216 on 36-month iPhone Air plans at Tesco Mobile right now. 25GB of data for £43.99 per month (including the device itself) is not a deal to be sniffed at, and you'll find a similar promotion being offered on the iPhone 17 Pro (though not the base iPhone 17 nor the iPhone 17 Pro Max). If you can live with only one camera, the iPhone Air is a beautifully crafted device with Pro-equalling power and a battery that'll get you through a full day.

For the first time in a few generations, we recommend the standard iPhone as 'the best iPhone for most people'. It's a little boring, a little safe, but we can't deny just how good value this particular iteration is. For once, the standard iPhone isn't really the poor relation with its crisp 6.3-inch display, excellent chipset, and healthy 256GB capacity. The only downside? It lacks a few of the higher-end camera features of the Pro devices.

If you're going big, then go all the way, we say. The latest iPhone 17 Pro Max is just an incredible device with a (somewhat) justified price tag. The device features the best iPhone cameras we've ever seen, a fresh design, a huge battery, and the astoundingly quick A19 chipset. It's the ultimate iPhone for sure, although you'll have to decide whether all these 'nice-to-haves' are worth the premium versus the standard model.

Apple iPhone 16e
The iPhone 16e is Apple's newest 'budget' model, but it's more accurately described as an entry-level iPhone for those who don't need the bells and whistles of an iPhone 17. You still get a 48MP 'Fusion' camera, a powerful chipset, a long-lasting battery, and Apple Intelligence compatibility, but given the phone's cheaper positioning in the iPhone lineup, you'll have to make do with a physical notch instead of the Dynamic Island, as well as a static 60Hz display and no MagSafe compatibility.
