With the Hong Kong branch house involved in the disaster, Sister Hilda, along with Sister Veronica (Rebecca Gethings), Sister Julienne (Jenny Agutter) arrive in Hong Kong to see what they can do to help, as well as find new premises for the mission. Meanwhile, nurses and other midwives are left home alone, which leads to a spirited Christmas celebration back in Poplar.
