TechRadar picks: these are the Black Friday Lego deals we want for ourselves – and they're all discounted

This 3,093-piece set allows you to recreate the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, also known as The X-Mansion in the Marvel franchise. It’s reminiscent of the classic Lego City Police Station set but with mutants instead of coppers. As with most licenced sets, this one’s pricey, but the AU$100 discount on Amazon has TechRadar’s Home Entertainment writer champing at the bit.

Lego is back in the board game business with Monkey Palace, which was released in 2024. The idea of the game is to build the tallest monkey palace using arches and supporting bricks. This one’s my personal pick as someone who can appreciate a good board game. The review from our colleague at GamesRadar+ said the rules can be confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, the game is simple and quick at an estimated time of 45 minutes per game. The integration with Lego makes this relatively pricey for a board game, but this discount should make it more competitively priced.

For the photographers and camera lovers, this set recreates the Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera, including details like the viewfinder and exposure compensation dial, as well the streaks of colour that make the design so iconic. The set also includes some ‘photos’ that can be loaded into the camera and then ejected, just like the real thing. For a relatively inexpensive Lego set, this 20% discount should make this more enticing and it’s what TechRadar’s APAC Managing Editor has picked as her Lego of choice.

Arguably the most recognisable artwork in Japanese history and also possibly the most reproduced image in the history of all art, the “ukiyo-e” woodblock print entitled The Great Wave off Kanagawa gets the Lego treatment with this 1,810-piece set. It makes for a unique home-decor piece that also shows off your Lego fandom. At RRP, this set is great value (art prints and paintings can get expensive), so this discount should make this even more tempting. Another one that our Managing Editor recommends.

This gargantuan 7,541-piece set is not only one of the biggest in size (and one of the most expensive) Lego has ever made, but is also one of the most coveted sets by both Lego fans and Star Wars fans alike. It’s one that nearly everyone on the Aussie TechRadar team agrees on. As with any Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) set, the details here are next level, featuring a gunner’s seat and a detachable hull panel with a fully rotating quad laser cannon, as well as seven minifigures. As expected for a set this size (and as a licenced product), AU$1,299 is a lot of money to spend on Lego, but this small discount should make it a bit more enticing for the hardcore collector. Just make sure you have enough room to build and store this massive set.
