The Samsung Galaxy S25 released in January, and it significantly improves upon its predecessor. Sporting One UI7, a 'Now Bar' similar to the iPhone's Dynamic Island and upgraded AI tools, the S25 is easily one of the best phones in Australia – surpassing the iPhone 16 in both performance and battery life.

However, it's challenged by two of its siblings. For premium buyers, we recommend the phone that we called the 'ultimate Android' in our Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra review, while the Galaxy A56 is one of the best cheap phones. It gained even more internal competition when Samsung introduced the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Still, while there are cheaper, more powerful and thinner alternatives within the Samsung family, the S25 sits in a sweet spot for those who want a top-tier experience without actually paying for the Ultra. And we're also starting to see some hefty deals on the baseline S25, so you might consider purchasing it outright and pairing it with one of our best SIM-only plans.

You can check out some of the top deals below, but many will prefer to pay off their pricey new phone in instalments alongside the best phone plans from Vodafone, Optus or Telstra. But, finding the best plan for you can be tough. That's why we've compared all the options from the big three to find the best Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus plans for you.

The best Samsung Galaxy S25 plan

Vodafone Small Plan | 60GB data | 24 months | AU$111.29 p/m

Vodafone Small Plan | 60GB data | 24 months | AU$111.29 p/m

While it was previously celebrating its huge coverage boost thanks to the landmark Optus and TPG deal with doubled data and discounts, that's no longer the case. Still, Vodafone holds the best Samsung S25 plan. For just AU$53 you get 60GB of data and unlimited international texts on top of unlimited standard calls/texts. Eligible students can also get unlimited international calls with this plan.

Minimum cost: AU$1,451.96 | Minimum cost over 24 months: AU$2,670.96

The best Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus plan

Vodafone Small Plan | 60GB data | 24 months | AU$123.79 per month

Vodafone Small Plan | 60GB data | 24 months | AU$123.79 per month

Again, despite no longer offering the same deal it has for most of 2025, Vodafone is still offering the best plan for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus. This is the same small plan as with the deal above, offering 60GB of data for just AU$53 p/m. However, if you want big data to go with your plus-sized S25, the medium plan from Vodafone is currently offering 180GB and unlimited international calls and texts for just AU$63 p/m.

Minimum cost: AU$1,751.96 | Minimum cost over 24 months: AU$2,970.96

Not interested in purchasing through a telco and getting a postpaid plan? That’s alright, as many Aussie retailers offer the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus outright.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Key Information

  • New AI features and UI
  • Upgraded CPU for great performance
  • Long battery life and sleek design

Samsung’s 2025 range of Galaxy S devices didn’t include sweeping hardware upgrades and monumental changes to the software, but there were some things of note. In the Australian market, the S25 and S25 Plus are receiving the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (changed over from an Exynos chip), the same processor inside the S25 Ultra.

Each phone, as usual, is IP68-rated for water and dust resistance, packing a gorilla glass panel and an AMOLED 2x display. Each phone supports fast charging (offering a 0-50% charge in 30 minutes) and up to 15W wireless charging with QC2.0 compatibility.

On the software-side, AI is once again leading the show. A new AI feature called Now Brief gives you a quick, AI-generated rundown on a bunch of selected points, such as news, travel time, weather and calendar plans. There’s also the new Now Bar, which offers dynamic, live updates at the bottom of the lock screen on all kinds of things, from sports to weather alerts.

AI-powered search across the phone has also been upgraded with wider app support, making it easier to find specific photos and files. There’s also a handy new group photo feature that takes a burst of shots and allows you to apply the best faces and a handy audio eraser tool for cutting out unwanted noises from videos.

Finally, Samsung recently announced the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. This new device is almost identical to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus, with an incredibly thin design at just 5.8mm thick. However, this comes at the cost of a smaller battery capacity (3,900mAh) and a less versatile camera array.
