Bag the new Arlo Essential security camera for a record-low price
Secure your home for under $40 with this security camera

It seems like every other house that I pass nowadays has one of the best home security cameras installed. And if you're tempted to join them but are not sure where to start, I'm here to tell you about this very affordable Arlo Essential Security Camera on sale at Amazon for $39.99 (was $49.99).
The $10 discount might not seem like a lot, but the costs can really mount up if you'd like three, four, or maybe more cameras on your property. Plus, this is the first price cut I've seen on the new version of that camera that launched in 2025.
In terms of specs, you get all the familiar favourites, including person recognition, package detection, and animation preview. If the deal wasn't sweet enough, Arlo will also throw in a one-month trial of their Secure plan.
Today's best Arlo Security Camera deal
Despite the low price, this is a wired camera that's packed full of features. My two favorite features are person recognition and package detection, which keep you firmly in the loop on who or what is turning up at your door. This is the first price cut we've seen on what was already a very affordable security camera.
Full disclosure, we've not reviewed this camera, but we have spent time with the Arlo Essential Indoor Camera. We loved it, giving it a very respectable four out of five stars. This version looks very similar, boasting the same aesthetic and focus on security features that you'll actually want to use.
This security camera is mains-powered, so you need to line up an electrician to get it fitted for you. You also want to keep in mind that you need an Arlo subscription to take full advantage of the camera's features. That includes video recording and the super handy ability to select areas in the camera’s field of view where activity detection is enabled.
