We've scoured most major Kiwi retailers and even Amazon Australia (yay for free shipping!) to find you some of the best tech deals to be had this side of Black Friday. From top-tier Samsung devices to popular kitchen gadgets, and there's quite a few good offers still to be had.

Doing all the hard work – like studying product price histories and comparing retailer offerings – so you don't have to, we've curated all the best offers onto this page. You just have one job – snap up the right deal for you while it's still available.

Black Friday 2025 in New Zealand: Top deals

While small note before you get stuck in – Amazon AU often has the best price, even when you account for a small shipping fee. However, the conversion from AUD to NZD can make the discounts inaccurate by increasing the RRP. We have attempted to include accurate RRP's where possible, but it's something to be aware of.

Phones

Nothing Phone (3a)
Save 27% (NZ$211)
Nothing Phone (3a): was NZ$769 now NZ$558 at Mighty Ape

While Nothing's slightly divisive design is even more unique in this blue colourway, it's unquestionably good value at this price. We haven't fully reviewed the Phone (3a), but our hands-on time with this model suggests it's a great pickup for those who prioritise style and software over camera quality. It offers an attractive design, a great battery, and a clean OS. Members save an extra NZ$10.

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion
Save 25% (NZ$201.77)
Motorola Edge 60 Fusion: was NZ$799 now NZ$597.23 at Amazon

One of the best cheap phones, this Motorola handset offers great value if you don't need the latest flagship features. For your money, you get a vivid display, impressive battery life and very good everyday performance. Don't expect it to handle heavy gaming, but it's plenty for the average user.

Tablets & ereaders

Apple iPad (2025; A16)
Save 18% (NZ$124)
Apple iPad (2025; A16): was NZ$699 now NZ$575 at PBTech NZ

The best iPad for most people, with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE acting as the best Android tablet for most people, this updated baseline iPad is an easy recommendation. Its A16 chip is very capable and it now comes with a minimum of 128GB of storage. Given it's the current model, this 18% saving is about as big as we expect to see this Black Friday.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite
Save 37% (NZ$314)
Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite: was NZ$849 now NZ$535 at PBTech NZ

The FE tablet above is the better tablet, but at this price the S10 Lite might be the better buy for some. While the above competes with the iPad Air, at this price the Lite is facing off against the baseline iPad. If you're looking for a tablet to watch, scroll and draw on, this is a great buy.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2024)
Save 27% (NZ$89.86)
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2024): was NZ$329 now NZ$239.14 at Amazon

The 2024 Paperwhite is one of the best Kindles you can get. Its E Ink Carta 1300 screen is fantastic, page turns are quick and we gave it 4 stars in our review. Our tester's only complaint with it is that a significant chunk of its 16GB storage is taken up by the OS, which won't necessarily be a deal breaker for most users.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (2024)
Save 21% (NZ$75)
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (2024): was NZ$359 now NZ$284 at PBTech NZ

With more storage, a brighter screen and wireless charging, the Paperwhite Signature Edition is arguably better value than the base model above. If you don't need a colour display, you should check this ereader out.

Amazon Kindle Colorsoft (16GB)
Save 28% (NZ$135)
Amazon Kindle Colorsoft (16GB): was NZ$489 now NZ$354 at PBTech NZ

Want to read in colour? The Kindle Colorsoft is one of the best ereaders with a colour display, even offering a feature to make the hues more vivid. As noted in our Kindle Colorsoft review, once you experience a colour ereader of the Colorsoft's quality, it's hard to go back.

Amazon Kindle Scribe (2024; 32GB)
Save 27% (NZ$199.45)
Amazon Kindle Scribe (2024; 32GB): was NZ$739 now NZ$539.55 at Amazon

Kindles are known for their reading capabilities, but with the Kindle Scribe, you get that and more. With a wide range of writing features, you can take notes, create sketches and brainstorm. We loved its 10.2-inch glare-free screen that has its own ambient light sensor to adjust screen brightness automatically, as well as its battery life.

The sound is a lot punchier than before and that's without compromising details across the range. It even gets a bigger battery to last you up to 16 hours and makes a case for itself at a very good price indeed. Available in various colours at this price. Members save NZ$5 more.

Home entertainment & Hi-Fi

JBL Spinner BT turntable
Save 38% (NZ$282.23)
JBL Spinner BT turntable: was NZ$749 now NZ$466.77 at Amazon

Our esteemed colleagues at What Hi-Fi? said this turntable from JBL is a surefire winner in the budget space. It has a great quality built-in phono output making connection to an amplifier as easy as possible (but you can bypass it if you wish), or you can stream via Bluetooth to a wireless speaker. If you're looking for a turntable upgrade, or a solid starting point to enter the world of vinyl, this JBL spinner is an excellent choice.

Save 26% (NZ$1,462.22)
AWOL Vision LTV-3000 Pro: was NZ$5,599 now NZ$4,136.78 at Amazon

This UST projector from AWOL Vision does require some manual input to set it up correctly, but once it's done, you'll be treated to a glorious, bright image. It supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and because of a lack of built-in streaming apps, an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is included. And this offer is more than NZ$100 cheaper than what it was during the July Prime Day sale.

Laptops & PC peripherals

Logitech Lift (Black; PC)
Save 47% (NZ$84.07)
Logitech Lift (Black; PC): was NZ$179 now NZ$94.93 at Amazon

This ergonomic vertical mouse is perfect for small hands and it encourages better posture, thus reducing aches along the wrist, shoulder and shoulder blade. I use it myself (I have the white colourway) and can't recommend it highly enough, even at full price.

Corsair K100 Air wireless gaming keyboard
Save 34% (NZ$206.63)
Corsair K100 Air wireless gaming keyboard: was NZ$599 now NZ$392.37 at Amazon

The most striking feature of this mechanical keyboard is its thinness, but it also comes with the promise of sub-1ms latency and 8,000Hz hyper-polling. In our review we praised the K100 Air's durability, great actuation and high polling, while bemoaning the high price of this slab. And yeah: it's expensive. At this price, it's a lot more doable.

Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro (black): was NZ$529 now NZ$291 at PBTech NZ

While it's more than we saw during Prime Day, this is still a good price on a fantastic smartwatch that we awarded four stars in our Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro review. Yes, it looks like an Apple Watch, but it also acts like one, offering excellent battery life, accurate health tracking and a bright display. Plus, perhaps most importantly, it plays nicely with both iOS and Android devices.

Cameras

Akaso Brave 7 LE
Save 23% (NZ$68.59)
Akaso Brave 7 LE: was NZ$300 now NZ$231.41 at Amazon

You may not have heard of this brand and dismiss it out of hand but, for its price, our colleagues at Digital Camera World rated it with a 4-star score in their review. Even at full price, it represents excellent value, offering a front screen that even a GoPro doesn't get you. Admittedly its image quality lacks against the big players, but we have it on good authority that it's reliable, easy to use and comes with plenty of accessories in the box.

It features a brand-new 22.3MP 1.4-inch sensor that boasts Canon's trusty Dual Pixel CMOS II autofocus and it has an integrated fan to keep things cool for the content creator. With plenty of grunt under the hood, this is the best price yet on this relatively new camera.

Save 35% (NZ$999.17)
Canon EOS R8 (body): was NZ$2,879 now NZ$1,879.83 at Amazon

This might be an entry-level camera but it has some advanced features. Anyone who wants to shoot wildlife or sports will be thrilled with the 40fps burst speed, and it inherits some of the tracking precision from Canon's higher-end cameras too. With a 24.2MP full-frame sensor, it's one of the lightest cameras available today and represents excellent value for a beginner.

It upgrades to a 40.2MP APS-C sensor, shoots at up to 20fps in burst mode with a 66-shot RAW buffer, and the sensor is stabilised too. If you like the rangefinder look, this is one heck of a compact package that you will need to buy a lens for. Note that you'll incur a delivery fee of NZ$19.10 and you'll still save.

You can find all the key dates and information related to Black Friday 2025 below. We’ll be adding any important news or retailer announcements into this section as we inch towards Black Friday to get you in the best position to take advantage of sales this year.

Do they have Black Friday in New Zealand?

Yes! While Black Friday started as a shopping observance on the fourth Friday of November – the day after Thanksgiving – it is now a global shopping event, with many of New Zealand's biggest retailers taking part.

When is Black Friday 2025 in New Zealand?

Black Friday 2025 will officially start at 00:01am NZDT on Friday, November 28. While the date of Black Friday changes every year, it always falls on the Friday after Thanksgiving in the US.

However, most retailers will start their Black Friday sales about a week earlier than the official date, so keep your eye out for sales from mid-November onwards. And, the very best offers will land over the four-day weekend starting with Black Friday and finishing with Cyber Monday.

When will we see official Black Friday sales start in New Zealand?

We’ll likely see official Black Friday sales appearing online about a week before the actual start date, which would mean NZ retailers will start their Black Friday sales from about November 21. As you'd expect, these early Black Friday deals aren’t always as good as what you'll find available on the official dates, but we have seen plenty of instances where early Black Friday prices don’t fall any further once Black Friday hits.

The majority of discounts from Black Friday 2025 will officially wrap up at the end of Cyber Monday on December 1.

Where can you find the best Black Friday deals?

Most brick-and-mortar stores and online retailers will offer Black Friday sales, and our job is to help you hunt down the best of the bargains. You’ll typically find the best deals on tech from big-name retailers such as Amazon and PB Tech.

Amazon Australia has been shipping items to New Zealand since July 2021, but unfortunately Kiwis don’t get access to all of Amazon’s Black Friday deals. Even some key Amazon-owned products like Echo smart speakers and smart displays don't ship to New Zealand. Still, throughout end of financial year sales, the first Prime Day of the year and Amazon's mid-year sale, we saw plenty of good deals in New Zealand. So, even without official sale branding, Kiwis can expect plenty of discounts.

PB Tech and Noel Leeming are key retailers to watch out for, too. From Apple Watches, iPhones, iPads and Macbooks to Sony headphones and monitors, both retailers have been offering plenty of deals in 2025, so we don't expect that to change during Black Friday.

Other key sellers are HP, Dyson and Ninja. If you're on the lookout for a printer, laptop, monitor, desktop, PC, tablet or any kind of PC accessory, HP should be at the top of the list. Dyson and Ninja, meanwhile, have all your appliance needs taken care of – from vacuums and hair dryers to ice cream makers and air fryers.

Black Friday 2025: our deals predictions for New Zealand

Black Friday is basically here, but we still expect the main event to hold the best limited-time offers. If you're wondering what to expect on the deals front, our experience with Black Friday last year, and our most recent coverage of Boxing Day and Christmas can help you prepare for Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2025.

Its safe to assume that Amazon Australia will be leading the pack come Black Friday – and it has, since November 18. That's a full 10 days in advance of Black Friday itself!

Other retailers like eBay, PB Tech, Noel Leeming and JB Hi-Fi will push hard on sales,
Hold off buying a new computer as laptops always get a big discount.
Great time to upgrade your home entertainment system with Black Friday deals on TVs and soundbars likely
Whether you're looking for the best headphones or best earbuds, now's the time to save up. The iPhone 16 will likely be down, as the iPhone 17 would have been announced.
Games consoles are always on the menu, and we think its safe to expect the PS5 to be down considerably, as well as the Xbox Series consoles and Nintendo Switch, with the PS5 Pro, new Xbox models and Nintendo Switch 2.
