The two best cheap tablets of 2025 are now on sale – and yes, one of them is an iPad
Pick up the best cheap Apple and Android tablets for less

Retailers' Labor Day sales are just around the corner, but you don't need to wait until Monday if you're in the market for a cut-price tablet: the Apple iPad 11-inch (2025) is now on sale for just $299 at Amazon (was $349), while the Android-powered Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is also available for $359.99 (was $379.99) at Walmart.
The latter deal isn't promoted as such on Walmart, but Amazon's equivalent (and more expensive) deal on the same product has its RRP at $379.99. If you're not interested in the bundled Folio Case, Walmart also has the stylus-only Lenovo Idea Tab Pro available for just $334.99. Again, that's not listed as a deal price, but Best Buy's equivalent (and more expensive) deal on the same bundle suggests otherwise.
This is the first time I've seen the iPad 11-inch (2025) and Lenovo Idea Tab Pro on sale at the same time, which is significant, because they're our current picks for the best cheap tablets money can buy. Get 'em while they're hot.
Today's best cheap tablet deals
The base model iPad is the best it's ever been. Apple's cheapest tablet now comes equipped with the A16 chipset, 6GB of RAM, and a gorgeous 11-inch display. It doesn't have Apple Intelligence, but it's the most powerful tablet in its price range and is set to get some killer desktop-style features with iPadOS 26. This deal knocks a welcome $50 off the list price, and is only $20 shy of the lowest-ever price for this particular model.
The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is arguably the best Android-powered tablet money can buy for under $400, and Walmart's $359.99 is the best current price available for the Folio Case bundle. Walmart is also offering the stylus-only bundle for $334.99, but we'd recommend picking up the full-blown accessory bundle to get the complete Idea Tab Pro experience. This tablet is ideal for streaming *and* studying thanks to its 12.7-inch 3K display, and its MicroSD card support is an unusual bonus at this price point.
Is there much more to say about the iPad 11-inch (2025) that I haven't already? Apple's latest base model trumps the cheap tablet competition for power, ease-of-use, and versatility, and it'll continue to be updated for many years to come.
The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro, meanwhile, is the next best thing if you're someone who prefers the superior customizability of Android. As we noted in our Lenovo Idea Tab Pro review, it also "offers some compelling upgrades compared to Apple’s tablet, such as a larger, 120Hz 3K screen and a great pen included at no extra cost."
