I tested these superb ANC headphones then forgot to ever stop using them… and they're on sale in a sweet early Prime Day deal

When I finish testing a gadget (especially headphones, sadly), usually the kit gets returned to the company or put on a 'reference shelf' deep within TechRadar headquarters to gather dust. But occasionally I get to keep using a review sample until someone checks the shelf, and that's the case with these cans. They were released earlier in the year and for this money, they're an outright steal.

After writing our Soundcore Space 2 review and giving the set a highly-commended four-star review overall, I've found myself returning to these noise-cancelling over-ears ever since. That's been especially true of late, after I finished testing the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro in-ears and was fully in Anker mode (Soundcore is an Anker sub-brand).

I was gearing up to write an article recommending the Space 2 over Prime Day, until I discovered that they're already enjoying £20 off in the UK.

This is the first discount I've ever seen on Anker's over-ear headphones, after being released towards the beginning of the year. It's unlikely they'll see a bigger price cut when Prime Day truly begins.

I started seriously using the Soundcore Space 2 again when some earbuds I was testing proved incredibly unreliable at sticking in my ears; I wanted something that would stay on my head when I was on walks without me having to hold them there.

More so than most over-ears, these things are really comfortable. They're soft, so ear ache is out of the question. And they're light, too. This also helps when I want to fold them into my bag, or wear them around my neck.

I really like the look too. They're a bit more interesting than your generic over-ears.

In my review, I was a little critical of the sound quality, but now that I'm not using the Space 2 for an analysis, I have to say that I really don't mind it as much. And the noise cancellation for the money is outstanding.

I also criticized the price hike over their predecessors, and that's where a Prime Day discount is a great thing. This lower price is closer to the Soundcore Space One release price, thereby eradicating one of the 'Cons' from my review.

There will undoubtedly be plenty of headphone discounts over Prime Day, and I can't say that this Space 2 one will be the absolute best. But it's here early, on a pair of headphones I really like. My advice? You could do a lot worse.
