K-Cups are made of polypropylene, which is recyclable, but isn't accepted by many waste facilities (see Keurig's official guidance on recycling). Nespresso capsules, on the other hand, are made from aluminum, which is easier to process. Nespresso pods can by recycled by mail, via drop-off bins in certain cities, and in Nespresso boutiques (see Nespresso's full guidance on recycling).
