Well, Three has done it again! It has just launched one of the best SIM plans on the market as part of its Black Friday sale. With this plan, you'll only spend £12 a month but you'll get an incredible 100GB of data for that price. If you need a big data SIM, this seems like the way to go.
Smarty SIM | 1 month rolling | unlimited data, calls and texts | £20 £16 a month
Smarty's other early Black Friday SIM is better suited to those who know they'll power through data. You can currently pay just £16 a month for its unlimited data plan. That puts it on par with Three's 5G unlimited SIM for £16 a month which has been dominating this area.
Lebara SIM | 1 month rolling | 2GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £2.50 a month for six months
Lebara is offering something rather special this Black Friday - the cheapest SIM in the UK! During this period, Lebara can get you a 2GB of data SIM for only £2.50 a month. That's roughly half the price of the next nearest SIM plan and still manages to get you 2GB of data each month! It is important to note that price only lasts for half a year, after that it will go back up to £5 a month.
EE | 18-month contract | 160GB data | Unlimited calls & texts | 5G ready | £20/pm
EE is going to be an obvious network for most people, offering the UK's fastest speeds. With this plan, you'll be paying £20 a month for your SIM plan but that price will secure you a massive 160GB of data. That's absolutely plenty for the large majority of people.
O2 SIM | 24 month contract | 250GB data | Unlimited calls and texts | £20 a month + free Disney Plus
O2 is rarely the cheapest provider around for SIM plans but, it makes up for its prices with its add-ons. With this deal, you'll pay £20 a month and get 250GB of data but on top of that, you'll also get a free subscription to Disney Plus! Between the free subscription and big data plan, this is a great value option.
Cyber Monday Three SIM plans
Three SIM | 24 month contract | Unlimited data | Unlimited calls and texts | £10 a month
Well, Three has done it again! It has just launched one of the best SIM plans on the market as part of its Black Friday sale. With this plan, you'll only spend £10 a month but you'll get unlimited data for that price. If you need a big data SIM, this seems like the way to go.
Three SIM | 12 month contract | 30GB data | Unlimited calls and texts | £13 a month
Alternatively, if you want to get your bills slightly cheaper, this Black Friday SIM from Three is also pretty fantastic. It only costs £13 a month but gets you 30GB of data. That will be perfect for people wanting to do the occasional bit of streaming, downloading on the go or gaming.
Three SIM | 24 month contract | Unlimited data, calls and texts | £10/pm for first 6, then £20 a month + £50 gift card for switching
This offer directly from Three is a little bit different. You'll get an unlimited data, calls and texts plan and only have to pay £10 a month for it. However, that pricing only lasts for six months with you paying £20 a month for the rest of it. On top of that, if you're switching from another network, you'll get a £50 gift card.
Three SIM: at Fonehouse | 24 month contract | 12GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £10/pm + £50 cashback
This offer from Fonehouse is great for those who want to try and keep their costs low. Three SIM: at Fonehouse | 12 month contract | 100GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £15/pm + £72 cashback by redemption

That alone is quite a strong offer but then Fonehouse will also throw in £72 in cashback by redemption. That does mean you'll have to claim back your money across the length of your contract but it is a considerable saving.
Cyber Monday O2 SIM plans
O2 SIM | 24 month contract | 250GB data | Unlimited calls and texts | £20 a month + free Disney Plus
O2 is rarely the cheapest provider around for SIM plans but, it makes up for its prices with its add-ons. Between the free subscription and big data plan, this is a great value option.
O2 SIM | 24 month contract | Unlimited data, calls and texts | £25 a month + free Disney Plus
This deal from O2 is a tricky one. Yes, it is a good deal...if you want unlimited data on O2. However, compared to the price of unlimited data on Three, Vodafone or most MVNOs, this is pretty expensive. You do however get a free Disney Plus subscription thrown in to help even things out a bit.
O2 SIM | 24 month contract | 30GB data | Unlimited calls and texts | £15 a month + free Disney Plus
If the above option is a bit too pricey for you, this could be a better value O2 SIM. It only costs £15 a month but for that price, you'll get a 30GB of data plan. Plus, you'll also get a 3 month subscription to Disney Plus thrown in too.

Vodafone SIM: at Mobiles.co.uk| 12-month contract | 100GB data | Unlimited texts and calls | £16 per month + £40 cashback
Vodafone is a popular network and right now, this is one of the best SIM plans on the network. It only costs £16 a month while getting you 100GB of data. That alone is a strong offering but it gets even better with the addition of £40 in cashback. That effectively brings your prices down to only £12.67 a month instead.
Vodafone SIM: at Fonehouse | 24-month contract | 100GB data | Unlimited texts and calls | £13 per month + £84 cashback by redemption
This is another great Vodafone SIM with cashback. While you will be tied in for 2 years - longer than the above SIM - it is a really affordable price point. You'll only pay £13 a month for 100GB of data. While that alone is very affordable, it gets better with the addition of a £84 cashback plan.
Cyber Monday MVNO deals
Smarty SIM | 1 month rolling | 50 100GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £15 a month
The first of Smarty's Cyber Monday SIM plans, here you're getting double the data on its £15 a month package. That means a huge 100GB of data which is more than plenty for the average person. Plus, because this is a 1-month rolling SIM plan, you can leave whenever you like without getting tied up in a contract!
Smarty SIM | 1 month rolling | unlimited data, calls and texts | £20 £15 a month
Smarty's other early Black Friday SIM is still going and is better suited to those who know they'll power through data. You can currently pay just £15 a month for its unlimited data plan. That makes it cheaper than Three's 5G unlimited SIM for £16 a month which has previously dominated this area.
Smarty SIM | 1 month rolling |16GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £8 a month
This is a fantastic option from Smarty for those on a tighter budget. You'll only pay £8 a month for this plan but for that price you'll get a very healthy 16GB of data plan. That's up from the original cap of 12GB making this a fantastic choice.
Lebara SIM | 1 month rolling | 2GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £2.50 a month for six months
Lebara is offering something rather special this Black Friday and Cyber Monday - the cheapest SIM in the UK! During this period, Lebara can get you a 2GB of data SIM for only £2.50 a month. That's roughly half the price of the next nearest SIM plan and still manages to get you 2GB of data each month! It is important to note that price only lasts for half a year, after that it will go back up to £5 a month.
Lebara SIM | 1 month rolling | 10GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £5 a month for six months
Like the SIM plan above from Lebara, this deal is half priced for the first six months of your contract. That means you'll get 10GB of data for only £5 a month. Compared to any other SIM plans at this price, this is offering a lot more data, holding you over with 10GB each month.
Lebara SIM | 1 month rolling | 15GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £7.50 a month for six months
This SIM plan is simply a small jump up from the Lebara offer above. You'll be getting 15GB of data while only having to pay £7.50 a month for it. Like Lebara's other Black Friday SIMs, that price does only last for six months but, even at its full price of £15 it is still a great offer.
Lebara SIM | 1 month rolling | unlimited data, calls and texts | £12.50 a month for six months
Lebara has managed to undercut the competition when it comes to unlimited data - a very fiercely competitive area. At just £12.50 a month for the first six months, this is the UK's cheapest unlimited data SIM plan right no by a good few quid a month! Plus, Lebara is an unlimited data SIM so you can leave at any time.
Virgin SIM | 24 month contract | unlimited data, calls and texts | £16 a month
This is easily Virgin's best Black Friday SIM only deal. It only costs £16 a month putting it at the same price as Three and iD Mobile - one of the cheapest options around for unlimited data. However, you will be tied in for 24 months with this plan which might prove a bit too long for some.
Virgin SIM | 12 month contract | 100GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £16 a month
If the above contract from Virgin feels slightly too long, this could be the better choice. It costs the same amount but it does cut your data cap down to 100GB. Obviously, that does make it worse value than the option above but if you really don't want to be tied in for too long, it could be a great choice.
Virgin SIM | 12 month contract | 12GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £9 a month
A much cheaper option from Virgin than the choices above. This deal gets you a 12GB of data plan for only £9 a month. That's a very affordable price, matching a lot of the other MVNOs for value. This is only a 12 month contract so is slightly less restricting than some of the 24 month options Virgin has.
Sky SIM | 12 month contract | 8GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £8 a month
Sky Mobile hasn't done much for Black Friday when it comes to SIM plans however, if its a network you're a fan of, this is the deal to go for. It only costs £8 a month while getting you 8GB of data. However, it is worth noting that there are other SIMs at a similar price that are better than this one.
Sky SIM | 1 month rolling contract | 30GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £10 a month
Plusnet has a great SIM plan for those looking for EE's connections on a budget. You'll only pay £10 a month while getting 30GB of data each month. Like a lot of other MVNOs, this deal works on a 1-month rolling contract, allowing you to leave whenever you like.
BT SIM | 24 month contract | 20GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £15 a month or £10/pm for BT customers
BT has a great SIM plan...for existing customers of BT. Right now you can get 20GB of data for only £10 a month if you're an existing BT customer. If you're not, then you'll instead pay £15 a month. While that higher price is still good, there are much better options from other MVNOs right now.
iD SIM | 1 month rolling | 10 16GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £8 a month
iD Mobile is often one of the cheapest networks around and its Black Friday offers are no exception. With this offer, you'll see your data cap rise from 10GB to 16. Despite that jump up, you'll only be paying £8 a month for this plan - a fantastic overall price for a 1-month rolling SIM with this much data.
iD SIM | 1 month rolling | 30 60GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £12 a month
If you know you'll need a lot more data than what's available with the plan above from iD, this will be the way to go. It only costs £12 a month but for that price you'll get 60GB of data. That's double the original data cap available and one of the best overall prices for this much data.
giffgaff SIM | 1 month rolling | 10 15GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £10 a month
If you're looking for a SIM plan that utilises the O2 network's coverage, this giffgaff SIM could be ideal. In its Black Friday sale, giffgaff has boosted the data from 10GB to 15 but kept the price low at only £10 a month. That's a great price from giffgaff which is rarely discounted.
giffgaff SIM | 1 month rolling | 25 30GB data | unlimited calls and texts | £15 a month
If the above giffgaff SIM is slightly lower on data than you feel like you'd need, this slight boost could be the better choice for you. It only costs £15 a month but for that price, you'll get 30GB of data each month. However, if you don't mind which network you're on, there are other offers which are cheaper with more data here.
Tesco SIM | 12-month contract | 60GB data | Unlimited calls and texts | £15/pm for Clubcards or £17.50pm without
On top of the phone contract discounts Tesco has, there are also some Black Friday SIM only deals. This SIM will land you 60GB of data on a 12 month contract and, if you're a Clubcard holder, you'll only pay £15 a month for it. If you don't have a Clubcard, it will be £17.50 a month.
Is Black Friday the best time to get SIM only deals?
Almost certainly. The large majority of leading SIM only deals out there right now originally launched over Black Friday last year. We would expect each year to bring the latest leading price points across the major networks, and 2021 was no different.
Casting our minds all the way back to 2019, we were convinced prices were hitting the lowest they ever could and then we thought the same thing for 2020, then, 2021, so 2022 will likely be the same.
What should you look for in a SIM plan?
There are a few factors that make up a good SIM plan, so what exactly should you be looking for over the Black Friday period?
- Data, calls and texts:
Pretty obviously, the amount of data, calls and texts that are offered are crucial. This is the core part of any SIM and while the large majority of SIM plans now offer unlimited calls and texts, the data cap can heavily fluctuate.
Consider how much data you actually need and try and aim for the cheapest option to hit that. There is no real need to get a plan that offers way more data than you are currently using.
- Cost:
Yes...another obvious one but crucial. Is the plan you've found the cheapest for the amount of data or is it a lot more expensive than the competition, does cashback bring the cost down or is it offering half price bills for a period of time. Take the time to see how a deals cost compares to other options.
- Network:
There is a massive collection of networks out there now and some offer better benefits than others. Voxi for example offers free social media, EE has the best speeds and Vodafone and O2 have strong reward programmes, think about what matters to you.
- Contract length:
The vast majority of contracts will fall into one of these categories: 1-month rolling, 12 months, 18 months or 24. If you're going for anything other than a rolling contract, consider if its worth the length of time. Sometimes 24 month contracts can be the cheapest but tie you in to a big commitment.
Will I be able to get a 5G SIM on Black Friday?
5G has become a much more common feature to SIM only deals recently. The large majority of networks now offer it as an automatic feature with just a couple of networks still waiting to add 5G.
With the four main networks - EE, O2, Three and Vodafone, 5G is automatically included and at no extra cost on the majority of deals. The same goes for the biggest MVNOs.
Realistically, whether or not a network offers 5G is less of a worry and if 5G is a key area for you, the key thing to look for is how strong its network and coverage is instead.
Where should you look for SIM plans on Black Friday?
Realistically, all of the major networks and retailers will be going big through the Black Friday period. For the MVNOs, going direct will be the way to get the best price point.
The likes of Lebara, Voxi, Smarty, iD Mobile, giffgaff and other big MVNOs will all likely be offering their best pricing of the year. As for the four main networks, you'll need to cast your net a bit wider.
A lot of the time these networks can be found cheaper at 3rd party retailers. It will be worth having an idea of which network you want to be on before Black Friday so you can narrow down your search.
The networks and retailers we'd keep an eye out for on Black Friday are:
